Gerrard really helped us step into a next level in the second half. A special mention to little luis. He is a great impact sub and he deserves the credit for helping us provide those killer passes to kill off the game. Kuyt, expect more for him to be honest, had he not scored he would have had a poor game today as did bellamy
-
we need to play more balls out wide to gonzalez kuyt needs to get more in the game and help the team more with his link-up play. defensively quite solid, we seem to pass the ball nicely, but we seem unable to create enough clear-cut chances. alonso must try to play in a more advanced role to help us create chances with momo covering behind him.

------------------Reina---------------- Finnan-----Sami-----Carra-----Agger Gerrard----Alonso----Sissoko----Gonzalez -------------------Kuyt----------------------- ------Bellamy------------------------------- Subs Dudek Warnock Pennant Garcia Crouch #Agger better option then warnock in JAR' s absence, can attack as well as defend # Gonzalez, cos in my team i would always field at least 1 genuine winger, plus would keep AC, or WB at bay. # Garcia makes a greater impact when je comes on as a sub plus a great attacking option. starting 11 is defenive enough # Pennant not zenden cos he is a great option to have on the bench if we r losing, plus there is alraedy 3 central mids in the starting 11.

Liverpool Kuyt delivers Liverpool snub 11:51 August, 16, 2006 Faced with a choice, Dirk Kuyt would snub a transfer to Liverpool in favour of moving to St James? Park. Both the Reds and Newcastle United are keen to snap up the Feyenoord striker this summer, yet it appears as though the player has made his mind up where he wants to head. "I would consider a move to Liverpool, but my first choice is Newcastle," Kuyt is quoted as saying in the Daily Star. "I know quite a bit about Newcastle, they're one of the best supported teams in the league.? Kuyt is valued in the region of £10million and as the Magpies search for a long-term replacement for Alan Shearer, this may be considered as money worth investing. link Reds close in on Kuyt Aug 16 2006 By Chris Bascombe, Liverpool Echo Feyenoord striker Dirk Kuyt DIRK KUYT'S future will be resolved over the next 24 hours, as Liverpool edge closer to an agreement with Feyenoord. Kuyt is on international duty with Holland, but negotiations have intensified behind the scenes with further talks today crucial if the transfer is to go ahead. Feyenoord have continuously stood by their valuation of £10m, having so far rejected a player-plus-cash offer. The Reds have made a bid in the region of £8m for the striker, and are also prepared to offer Jan Kromkamp as part of the deal. Dutchman Kromkamp was left out of the Liverpool squad which travelled to Cardiff at the weekend, but has been pencilled in to play for the reserves in Lincoln tonight. Having been informed by Kuyt he wants to move to Anfield, Feyenoord have become increasingly resigned to losing the striker. If the Kromkamp swap remains a no-go, the key to the conclusion of the deal is whether Liverpool are prepared to makea straight £10m offer for Kuyt, or whether payments can be structured in a manner the Reds can afford. However, it'snow clear Benitez is tantalisinglyclose to securing the signature of a player he's chased for two seasons. The Dutchman is likely to be a Liverpool player in time to join the squad for the Premiership opener with Sheffield United on Saturday. conflicting reports byt me thinks bascombe is right

was never given a starting role by inter, is still very young as proved by the above post. not only his goals but his sheer pace contributes a lot to any team he is playing for, plus he is not short of technical ability.

Obafemi Martins anyone? I know he isnt the ideal partner for Bellamy as like Bellamy he is a diminutive pacey type of striker, but i really rate the guy. with his unparalled pace he creates havoc in any defence. has never been recognised as an automatic stsrter for inter and with the arrivals of crespo and ibrahimovic he will surely want to leave inter. anyways the gurdaian saying he s likely off to newcastle or spurs faciliting kuyts move to us, but if i were rafa i would not strike martins completely off the list without serious thoughts. link Ibrahimovic move may suit Reds Simon Evans Friday August 11, 2006 The Guardian Zlatan Ibrahimovic's £16.7m move from Juventus to Internazionale may have the unlikely result of facilitating Dirk Kuyt's move to Liverpool. The Sweden international's arrival at San Siro could see Obafemi Martins on his way to Newcastle United who had also been interested in signing Kuyt. Liverpool's manager Rafael Benítez yesterday reiterated his ambition to sign the Dutch international, who is currently at Feyenoord, saying: "He is one of several players on my list." Martins' position at Inter was already vulnerable after the signing from Chelsea on loan of Hernán Crespo who is almost certain to partner Ibrahimovic up front. Ibrahimovic, who had been seeking a move from the Stadio Delle Alpi since the Turin club were relegated as part of the match-fixing scandal, has signed a four-year contract. He scored 23 goals in 70 games for Juventus. . Reuters by wiki Obafemi Akinwunmi Martins (born October 28, 1984 in Lagos, Nigeria) is a Nigerian international football player who is a striker for Internazionale, wearing the number 30 jersey. Regarded by many as one of Inter's finest recruitments in years, Martins has established himself in one of the world's elite strikeforces, along with his teammate, Brazilian Adriano. Martins is well known for his surging runs, using his blistering speed and pace to run past defenders like they are standing still. He used to run 100 meters in less than 11 seconds. In 2005, he was alleged to have lied about his age and reports in the papers claim that the age on his passports was different from his real age. However reports turned out to be false. The Nigerian Footbal Association (NFA) further quashed the claims In December 2005, he signed a long-term contract (until 2010) with Inter Milan worth about 2.5 million euros annually. In 2006, Martins continued his great form for Inter, before heading out to play for Nigeria in the African Nations Cup, where Nigeria finished 3rd, losing to Ivory Coast 1-0 in the Semi finals. Martins managed two goals in the competition, both coming against Senegal in the first round. In August 2006, he handed Inter a transfer request after Inter bought in another striker, Hernan Crespo. He is rumoured to be wanted by Valencia, Newcastle, Portsmouth, Manchester Utd and Chelsea. He is valued by Inter at around 17 million Euros. In the Newcastle local newspaper the 'evening chronicle' on August 9th 2006, journalist and chief sports writer of the chronicle, Alan Oliver claimes that united were hoping to start talks with internazionale over a proposed move to the north east club

there is a limit, but it depends how much you rate the player and how much money you are disagreeing upon. I am not comparing alves to pennant. I am just saying alves seems hugely desired by Rafa and if so i hope he persists pursuing him and not waste 7mill on pennant. If Alves is much better than pennant i would prefer if i blow 12mill on him than buying pennant and a striker. I understand that pennant is still very young and the odds are that he will improve but I would still refuse to buy waste money on second best. Why? because there are better and we need to start buying the best available.
-
the way i see it, better pay 12mill on your no1 target than half the price for your second prefernce. If it results into lack of funds to buy a striker, then so be it. better securing one defeciency at a time than trying to buy everything at once inadequeatly. Upfront if one of our strikers gets injured we still have kewell, garcia, gerrard even zenden to play as a forward or in the hole. These apart from crouch/fowler/bellamy/pongolle.

Vieira, labelled as "avareage" by A.C. Milan Henry ''''''''''''''''''''' "s***" by Juve Eboue a star in the making Ashely Cole I think Ljungberg Pires fairly cheap Begkamp inter reject AND SO ON
-
surprised arsenal arent in the race to get him. or are they? They need a player like him... He s best mates with henry.... bergkamp has retired.... he would jump at the chance to join arsenal.... he s french. i would be absolutely made up if we signed trezeguet. A real 'fox in the box' and a goal machine.

Five favourite LFC Player at the Club currently - and why!
Toni replied to Andy @ Allerton 's topic in Liverpool FC
Gerrard- heart and sole of LFC. Could have gone sucking Abramovich s millions but preferred to stay with his boy-hood club. a rarity nowadays. Carra- red through and through and a great defender Momo- dominating presence in the middle of the pitch, loaded with guts and coruage Alonso- superb passer and he s also a tough little fecker. Garcia- never hides, always tries to make things happen for the team and not to bulk up his ego. -
not really convinced on bent on yet. if we buy him for a reasonable price, i.e. not more than an overall 5mill, i would be happy, but if we lash out 12mill as his price tag is rumoured to be on, it would be a massive gamble by rafa, imo. if on the other hand rafa realised that currently we cant afford a 12 mill pound striker and is taking a gamble on buying bent for much less, with the aim of funding the alves deal and giving sinama a deserved chance then, i fully agree with rafa.
-
he is a t***! if as widely rumoured two parties agree a price and after the price has been agreed, the selling party keeps on increasing the price, even after agreeing on the increased price a second time he is a t*** of the highest order. hope parry has the decency not to follow such t***ty behaviour! if above is true as i think its del nido is a sleazy t*** t*** t*** or ciunt or...etc etc etc etctetcteetcetc........
-
although i have only seen alves and gonzalez few times, i think that alves would be the better signing of the two. gonzalez seems good but alves is quality rafa rates him highly and as others stated i hope we dont lose out on him for a deffernce of just 1.5mill or the 15% of the transfer fee as stated by that t*** del nido. dani alves

I'm sure there's plenty more complications to it. Gab Marcotti said some whiel back that the expected outcome is that Juve will get themselves relegated to Serie B, and lose their last two titles, and Milan/Fiorentina/Lazio will start next season with points deductions. Also, points will be deducted from last year too, the upshot being that Inter end up last year's champions, and the clubs affected are unlikely to be in the CL this year. The dirctors/refs will get all sorts of other bans. Napoli have been getting 51,000 crowds in Serie C. that will be the final outcome imo. there is no way that all of juve/milian/fiorentina and lazio will be relegated from the serie A, otherwise one might as well watches serie b instead of serie A. Juve to serie B and the others deducted points, which will be an insult to sport principles and justice.
-
after wed. representative lawyers still found a way to appeal, so final sentence is some way off, possibly after CL qualifiers begin. Also juve are on the brimk of finalising a deal with real madrid which consists in sending a number of their best players on loan to madrid including cannavaro/emerson/zambrotta, for two years. If juve fail to get promoted to the serie A within the next two years, madrid would keep the juve on loan players for free.

Something very similar to this would just fine. my fav.kit......
