  1. This Rafa leaving tripe IS mere speculation. if as claimed rafa will leave cos he needs another 30mill next summer to complete the squad, Rafa can easily round very close to that amount. I cant remmember the last time LFC didnt make at least 20mill available to their standing mangers for a summer transfer kitty...With a couple of other sales like the dude, diao, nando/cisse, traore etc he can easily round up close to teh 30mill mark. Plus Rafa as stated numerous times is very happy at the club and all of us including him knew and know that progress will be made and is being made gradually throughout the years, as tangible results can easily show thus far. Do not think Rafa is a quitter, can t see any valid reason whatsoever which will compel him not to stick to the original plan. As far as Madrid goes, the mere fact that Perez resigned still does not clear the mess and galattico image and policies Madrid fans and the club demand. Some of you are making a storm in a teacup over some lazy-ass journalism who simply and stupidly claim Rafa is off to Madrid cos 1) he wants 30mill 2) Perez resigned. Get a grip. Do you think Rafa is that stupid? He would be risking to lose all his good reputation he earned so far, leaving a club where he is adored by the fans and is fully respected and backed by the board, to leap into a red hot messed, spoilt seat! me, nah cant see it at the moment!

  7. Think cisse should be given a decent run in the PS. Both Crouch and Nando have been given decent runs. Cisse hasnt. There s not much to choose between our current strikers, why not give him the chance to start 5 games in a row, instead of nando? cant do much worse.

  11. Answer goes as follows....We need to add more quality players to the squad, esp upfront so when our couple of key players are off form, we have competent aid to be able to pose a threat coming from elsewhere, wings and strikers.
  12. To put it bluntly Reina (Dudek).................... KEEP/(SELL) Finnan ............................... KEEP Riise .................................. KEEP Hyppia ............................... KEEP Carragher .......................... KEEP Kewell ............................... KEEP Gerrard ............................. KEEP Sissoko (Hamman) ............. KEEP(KEEP) Alonso ............................... KEEP Garcia ............................... KEEP AS SUB Crouch (Baros) ................. KEEP AS SUB (SOLD) Others .... Morientes ........................... SELL Cisse ................................. SELL Traore ............................... SELL Fowler (Sinama) ................. ??? (KEEP) We need 2 strikers, one right wing and Gonzalez as an alternative to kewell. If all the buys prove to be quality we will be able to contend for every major honour on the planet! nothing new i know, but...
  13. Garcia can be very frustrating at times but he is a valid player for us and currently there are many players deserving to leave anfield, way before garcia.
  14. that we havenT....
  15. On the plus side, the more i see of simao the more i thank our lucky stars that we have forked out 10/12mill for him!
  16. Benfica are fourth in the league, and we should really have achieved a better result tonight. Disgraceful performance from the us tonight bar finnan and carra. We have vainly made life difficult for us and that is why we it is a frustrating night.

  18. really really happy with the win! kewell decent game, expect more from him to be honest, must try to beat defenders more down the byline. EDIT: not questioning his commitment but in general he should be beating opposing full-backs more down the line.

  20. Could we could still encounter problems with his work-permit next season?
  21. enjoyed our little debate here...i only hope that everyone at the club adheres to the important principle we agreed on i.e Trusting Rafa to know what strides he wants to make and when and back him up soundly to ba able to do it ....until the next fyds
  22. Well i hope you are right, but i am still a bit sceptical in the sense that......were kuyt, alves and simao the only players on rafa s wanted list? Were there more? if so why the hell our targets are suddenly over-valued when we bid for them? Is it perhaps we are under-valuing such players or do other world-wide clubs have an agenda against us?
  23. We seem to agree. Trusting Rafa to know what strides he wants to make and when is exactly my point, but to be able to trust rafa Rafa to know what strides he wants to make, he must be financially backed by the board. We agree on this and thats all i want. but dont you raise the following queries..... I doubt Rafa would resist the temptation of buying a ST and a RW next summer ( the latter may even be Gonzales for all i care, if Rafa thinks he s worthy to fill the void in our squad) if he has enough funds available to be able to do so. Dont you sometimes think last summer he wasnt allowed to spend as much as he wanted to? and we are suffering a bacl lash of this result this season. He cried aloud for a Rw and a Cd all summer, which he failed in either and i doubt it is a result of his incompetence, as i doubt that aggers fee decreased in January. If he was our first target which i beleive he was, we would have bought him for the same fee last summer...
  24. I agree we have made enormous strides, but we must make, i call it the 'final' stride, so as not to erase the good work we have made thus far, by stagnating again, and giving rafa a healthy transfer kitty next summer cannot in any way whatsoever be percieved as a 'drastc measuee', even more so if we do well in this years CL.
