It's all down to a good scouting network. Though some players that usually succeed are proven already.. Hard to say what is the best policy but if you keep going for bargains you end up like Aston Villa. Newcastle messed it up by buying to many trophy signings and not padding out their squad with competitive players.. Rafa seems to be showing a happy medium so far.
I do hate having the Mancs in there.. They used to veto our proposals to the league something chronic in the 80's. I heard (Bit grey this.. sorry) they even blocked us from having the 5 badge on our jersey along with a certain sour blue bunch who got knocked out of the CL at Anfield. Still they're a powerful team too regardless.
I'd like to see Anfield renovated on the Anfield Road and Main Stand areas. The fact is we're missing out on a hell of a lot of revenue cos of the lack of seating, corporate suites and executive boxes in comparision to our rivals.. P.S. I do feel dirty writing corporate and executive in relation to Anfield...
No bother. Think Torres is on their shopping list too though. They've also got Hleb, Van Persie, Ljungberg (superb in the CL final), the golden boy Walcott and even Henry to play that wide - infield runner role Wenger likes.
Especially if there's another moaner missing his brother about too.. Walcott was hardly experienced though. SGE is having the proverbial laugh at everyone with that choice. Should've called up Ashton.
Johnson reminds me of Diouf with more pace and less tricks.. Goes down in the penalty area far too easily. Would be a marked man by refs at a big club.
Can play anywhere in the midfield but off the front two/one is his best position. Finding space between forward and back. Holding up play and bringing players into it from their deep runs is his best attribute. A typical No.10. I can Arsenal maybe letting Reyes go to Real after this move.
