the angst and teeth nashing directed at Rodgers by people all over twitter yesterday (yes yes i know) is totally misplaced.. any time i've questioned the owners i've had it thrown back in my face but the fact is they need to dig deep and help out.. the squad is loaded with s**** and now they've got in the man they claim is the type they wanted all along they need to back him.. i'm right behind Rodgers.. i think had a couple of decisions gone our way in other games we'd be much better sat in the league (even yesterday i thought we should have had a pen and Colloccini should have gone much earlier for a challenge on Suarez) and i think the team plays well more often than not.. they're still try to implement this way of playing that will take more than 3 months to get used to and there's a few players that seemingly struggle with it so he's going to need to buy people that will be able to play this way.. FSG need to stand up and be counted.. there's a good bit of value to be had in January if we can sort it out..
-
true mate.. the good thing for us is that there are three top strikers out there that could go for about half their actual value in January and we're in pole position to offer them a starting berth.. Huntelaar, Llorente and Walcott.. any/all of them could contribute massively to our side and we'd pick them up at something FSG could consider 'value'.. not, of course, that they should be looking at it like that - they should of course be backing their man no matter what but this seems to be the situation we're in at the moment until they get your/our 's*** happens' attitude.. in an ideal world i'd like two of those three (Walcott and Suarez either side of KJH or LLorente in an attacking three would be fkin boss!).. we could spend about 18m there on two of those in January for what would have cost about 40m 15months ago..

that's a beautiful image.. i'd love to take the kids to see something like that.. think i'll stick it on my to do list..

aye.. and if you look at the Chelsea v Mancs games recently some of the fans were fkin rabid!..
-
it's affecting the fans too.. again, yes i know there's always been a bit of banter between fans that could spill over into the unpleasant but i reckon the chants at opposition fans and players is bad at the match now - not taking into the free-for-all-nonsense and out and out offensive peddled on the likes of twitter..
-
it's f***ing pathetic.. i don't get it.. say something to him.. challenge him.. if you get barred from the next press conference so what?? just lift your quotes from Sky Sports News or, do you what you do most of the time and make s*** up.. i love footy but i've got to be honest all the nonsense around it - whether it be players, refs, other managers or media/whatever - is really starting to spoil the whole thing for me.. i know there's always been nonsense but it's on a whole 'nuther level now.. it's not even talking or taking the piss about whats happened in the game between mates anymore - the game itself is a sideshow to the lying, crying, cheating, inadequacy of everything else revolving it and the subsequent reporting of it..
-
he's an utter c*** Ferguson.. an absolute out and out utter c***..

look, i get that.. but we've brought in a manager with massive potential (or so some of us think) and he needs to be given the right tools to do the job.. in my opinion it's not right to judge him when he hasn't been given a fair crack of the whip in relation to what he's allowed to bring in to rectify the gaping holes in the squad.. i said the same of Rafa - i thought it was unfair to judge him while G&H were here so it would be hypocritical of me (and wrong i feel) to treat Rodgers differently, particularly because i like him and believe he'll take us forward (again though with that caveat!)..
-
see, i'm kind of with D.Boon here because i like Rodgers and think he'll do well BUT there's a caveat to that in that he needs backing and backing properly by the owners.. the squad is thin on quality and we can't be expected to challenge for anything until that's rectified.. if he's not backed then we can't fairly judge him.. if he is backed we'll find out more about him and his ability going forward at which point we'll have a better idea whether he's the man for us.. i would hope that he's given good money in January to get what he can and then, regardless of where we finish (relegation threatened notwithstanding), i think he needs next Summer's window too with next season to improve the league form.. giving him just this one season, particularly after the striker debacle and lack of serious investment in the summer, isn't doing anyone any favours...

Brendan Rodgers - New Liverpool Manager Barnsey_10 is a t**
owenthomas replied to Barnesy_10's topic in Liverpool FC
my point 5 is worded badly i think.. to try and explain better - i think the Yanks have got lucky because they probably had a list of what they wanted from a manager.. their track record with appointments (Commolli/Chang) indicates their 'wants' list isn't what it should be.. Rodgers has ticked the boxes with regards to things like 'young', 'work to a budget' rather than what i think the majority of fans would have wanted which would include "successful" and "experience" and "european knowledge" etc.. all summising of course! so, for me anyway, they've gone for him for what could be construed as the 'wrong' reasons... saying all of that i think he's going to grow into the job and be a great success which would be more the Yanks getting "lucky" that their 'wants list' goes from being a bit jarg and not what a top club should be looking for in a manager.. so maybe that clears up what i'm thinking? *i've just read back and not sure it does! haha.... I'll take the criticism of my point 4 but i think he's shown strength in not accepting the DoF... i thought that although he didn't get Dempsey he still showed enough of a pissed off attitude to suggest he'd had words and despite Henry's open letter fail i think the whole episode showed, to me at least, that he'd stand up for himself whereas i was initially concerned about him in that respect.. reading all of the above makes it sound like i'm doing Rodgers a disservice but it's not meant to be - as mentioned i now love him, i think he's boss and my initial concerns upon his arrival have almost all but subsided.. -

well that would be the sensible thing to do so surely they must have said something and i missed it while i was getting back up onto my chair...................... just rewound and checked and, errr, no they didn't mention it actually... weird... probably edited that bit out.. yeah... thats what it'll be... edited out..........

unbelievable.... Graham Bean (bell but bear with me) has just been on Sky saying "Chelsea will rue the day they made these allegations against Clattenburg.....because if they're true they should be investigated but its clear the referee fraternity will stick together on this".. WHAT? haha... so basically its ok for a ref to racially abuse someone (allegedly) but if you accuse them then you're f***ed for a decision next time you play cos his other mate ref won't wanna know... f*** me a bus EDIT: quick google to get it right! Bean also believes Chelsea might live to regret the whole the whole situation in the future, regardless of the outcome of the investigation. “My gut feeling is that, at the end of all this process, Chelsea will rue the day that this happened because I just think that they are in effect making a rod for thier own back,” he continued. “If if those comments had been made it is clear that the referee brigade are sticking together on it.”

Brendan Rodgers - New Liverpool Manager Barnsey_10 is a t**
owenthomas replied to Barnesy_10's topic in Liverpool FC
i didn't think he was the man for us.. i felt we needed someone with a proven track record and i think the Yanks went for him because they thought he'd be easier to handle than a bigger name manager..... 1) I now love him; 2) I think he'll be f***ing brilliant for us; 3) He'll have some hard times but i think he'll overcome them with aplomb; 4) The Yanks have had their eye wiped as i think he's solid and won't give in like they might have felt he might; 5) I think it's more luck than design that the Yanks got him....... -

don't know if it's been mentioned in the thread but Dowd's reaction to Suarez's dive in front of Moyes pissed me off.. Suarez dives, Moyes moves in to say something before clicking on that he'd look a c*** and Rodgers is standing there clapping.. Dowd moves up near Moyes then steps back and looks at Rodgers while shaking his head and giving the look of "he's out of order there".. he then picks a notebook out of his pocket and starts to write.. i assume what he writes is for the next conference they have about Suarez.. "book him next time!"... shower of t***s..

i too know people who would know and they would agree that, yes, he's a bell...
