fair enough - i do remember it was Kenny you preferred actually, soz.. i'd personally like to have seen a number of fans (my mates included by the way) stick by Rafa in his final weeks/months here.. thought it was folly to let him go then and think it's been pretty much proven that the club was in a s*** place and he was working his nuts off to keep it together.. shame.. anyway, onwards and upwards - think Brendan will have us challenging for fourth by February..

i don't get this.. when he was here you didn't want him and actively backed Roy Hodgson for the job .. now you have concerns that Rafa may not be able to come back?! what's changed?! what's he got now that he didn't have then?

thing is though D, if JWH had said to Rodgers "here you go, here's a massive pot of money, go get the striker you need" i don't think he would have chosen Dempsey.. he was going after Dempsey because the cost fitted in with what Rodgers had available.. there's no way Rodgers wouldn't have wanted a Van Persie/Llorente/Huntelaar type had the funds been there for him to splash out..

no idea mate (to any of those q's).. i only googled this as i thought it would be interesting to see how he's done there as i remembered the goal against the Mancs..

i should also add that if Rodgers goes after Sturridge (as rumoured this morning) i will go off him very quickly.. i can't stand Sturridge..

if we use his goals for Spurs as a barometer then he's scored 2 in 6 as you say.. one was the winner in a 3-2 win against the Mancs.. the other was the second goal in a 2-1 win against Southampton.. therefore, we could (!) say his goals for Spurs have earned them an extra four points.. those four points for us would have us on 15 points and two points off fourth place.. ..and yes, i know how unlikely this is but lets just play along!..

and despite Rodgers f***up in allowing Carroll to go before a striker was signed he was only trusting what he'd been told and ultimately it's FSG at fault for this.. as John Henry's b******s letter showed..

in a nutshell, this is it.. he needs funds to spend.. he needs to be backed when going after whatever players he's after, FSG need to get out of the 'young with a sell-on value' mindset because there will be times when that just doesn't work because you need to buy the player who will fit in and bring the outcome you want (see Van Persie for example).. i like Rodgers a lot.. i think he will do well but the caveat to that, as it has always been, is that he needs to be backed properly.. if he's not then its just a waste of time for everyone and they'd have been better saving the millions they paid out to Dalglish and his staff + Swansea etc and told Kenny he needed to make it work with what he's got.. for me, FSG haven't grasped what it's going to take to compete in footy and - worse - is that i believe that they think they've got it sussed..

Paul's one of the better people i follow on twitter.. do i agree with everything he says? no... am i arsed? no... he's also worth following for the banter all the Dalglish's have when they get on the vino.. some of the tweets between them all are boss!
