someone told me that the BBC have written that Rodgers now finds himseld 'under pressure'.. what a load of s***.. in fact, and i don't know if anyone feels the same but surely they do, i couldn't be more positive about him.. i didn't think he was ready for a job this big but it already looks like the team are playing the way he wants them to and if we can cut out the silly mistakes and take out chances then we'll be fine.. i thought we wouldn't see much influence until Jan/Feb time but if it's already looking this good then by January we'll be fkin rocking!..

i couldn't disagree more.. when he first got here JWH read up on LFC to the nth degree.. it wouldn't suprise me one bit if he now thinks he knows it all.. not one bit..

i can.. that's exactly how i envisaged Rafa carrying on.. Rafa would have loved to have shown he was right to revamp the academy by playing the kids.. i'm personally more glad that Rafa's work will be carried on by someone of a similar philosophy.. one could only imagine how Hodge would have impacted things had he had the chance..

to be fair, a philosophy put in place by Rafa that is now bearing fruit.. thankfully we have a manager of similar thought that will be able to continue the good work..

if that c**** refusing to resign i think his work (Silverman Livermore) should get a touch of the old email deluge!

i thought he was shouting at Jones to get back on his line! anyway, when he first signed he'd beat the attacker for pace, shoulder him off the ball and then come away with it - that looked cool and he looked immense.. halfway through last season his head started to go and i was asking for him to f*** the cool stuff off and just slide tackle the man to get the ball.. he's all over the place now.. what the f*** has happened to him?

why are people continuing to question the Dempsey deal? It is not about Dempsey now - that's gone. Henry has said in his letter why he didn't go for Dempsey (re age/value) but that isn't the issue.. it's being clouded by Dempsey because he's the name we know the manager wanted but the real issue is why didn't we bring in ANY striker? We have a manager and scouts - was the only name on their list Clint Dempsey? I bet it f***ing wasn't.. So forget Dempsey - FSG should have made it abundantly clear to Rodgers that he can't have a player of a certain age/value.. if they have done how on Earth do we get to the position we got to where we're going after a player that the owners won't sanction? There's clearly a breakdown and as owners the buck stops with FSG as to who's accountable whether they like it or not and whether they dress it up as value or whatever.. Our hope is that any breakdown is a one-off and cleared up now otherwise we're going to bumble around like this window after window with clueless owners and a manager who doesn't know who the f*** he can target..

the team we put out against Arsenal - on paper - looked boss.. of that side, i think we're using Gerrard/Suarez/Borini in the wrong place though.. i'm hoping Brendan see's this too.. Lucas is a massive loss (again) but yeah i think theres potentially top four there.. i think with an out and out striker its virtually there.. obviously this is with them all picking up nuances of the tiki-taka permitting like... the new system could be confusing some.. certainly is in the final third at times..

Right, i've had a chance to cool down a little now because i've got to be honest i've been f***ing furious with the club over the past week. Therefore, this post hasn't pissed me off as it would have done about 3 or 4 days ago. I can see the merit in the post. I can see what you are saying and agree with a little. But, anyway, here's my view.. Firstly in answer to the question you pose: i think they let Kenny/Commoli spend that money for a number of reasons - 1) they were on the crest of a wave; 2) they felt that by spending big in the short term they would reach their immediate goal (Champs League qualification); 3) they probably figured that by buying these young players it would mean they wouldn't have to shell out again in each window as these young players would mature and get better with a few years more experience and as a club we could begin to blood some academy/reserve players and; 4) they (probably) had to. We couldn't just sell the best striker we'd have for yonks and then do f*** all. They'd have been hounded out from the off. But, the above (re how much they initially spent) is f*** all to me now. We've been there and done that a million times (not sure of the pertinence of you asking it but hey, i've answered now). My issue is purely down to the fact that we've been left without an out and out striker for the second transfer window in a row because it was patently obvious it wasn't working even when Kenny was here in January. Now, whether the striker signing didn't happen because of the purse strings or the manager or whoever the fact is it was a f*** up. I'm no CEO or hotshot in the boardroom like growler but i'd tell you how it should have worked.... if FSG have this policy re age/value in place they should have made that clear to Brendan Rodgers (im not saying they haven't). If Rodgers wants a striker like Dempsey then they should have said "no, you can't have him because of our age/value policy but you can have anyone of these 22 to 25 year olds that are on your target list"... Rodgers then chooses the player - FSG then get him... So now, where was the breakdown that allowed something as simple as that not to unfold? The club has f***ed up. The club is owned by FSG. Therefore the buck stops with them. My overriding thought - even prior to the striker debacle - is that they want to lower the wage bill, get in some top commercial deals and then sell us on. And you know what, that's business - i accept their rights to do that. When they bought us i didn't think they'd be 30 year plus owners and i've seen nothing to change my mind. But, as i say, that's well within their rights. They bought it, they can sell it. What i do have a problem with though is that - certainly in this short term - the way they are running things is making the club uncompetitive. I don't know whether they know this but its going to get harder and harder to achieve what we want (which is what they said) from a poorer starting position. Whether they like it or not money needs to be pumped into the club to get the team moving. Every team is in the same position - it needs money - even the likes of City and Chelsea have spent and they were in a much stronger position than we were. You spend so you don't stand still or, worse, go backwards. No f*****s going to want to spend 80m to sponsor us when we're not in the main European competitions. And i don't have as much faith in the working of this f***ing FFP they bang on about - i think they could be in for a shock if they think the football authorities have any backbone to start seeing something this big through!! I also do not understand for the life of me why they haven't brought someone with footy knowledge in to be on the board and manage things proper. People say Dein but i'd personally go for Peter Kenyon*. An absolute c*** of a man but you know what, we need some hard nosed c**** in there. We need a bit of backbone. To the majority of fans the club looks like it's in a mess and it needs some c*** with attitude to help steer it back on track. That can't be done remotely from Boston. That can't be done by owners who claim to be able to compete with anyone in football but then don't back it up. That can't be done when your owners bumble around wanting some wonderful Director Of Football model only to jack it in when a manager with absolutely no top level experience tells them he won't take the job unless they f*** it off. For the owners, actions should speak louder than words. I'd rather Henry didn't write that letter because for me its posed more questions than it gave answers. By the way, if anything, i think they should have backed Rodgers certainly short term before trying their cost cutting exercise. He's their man and they should have backed him. Regardless of that i have to say i don't completely absolve Brendan Rodgers of blame in everything relating to the transfer window either for what it's worth.... *sorry everyone.. he's the only hard nosed c*** i can think of!
