Its not the first time in recent weeks he's gone AWOL at the front post. We know Utd will target set pieces on Sunday so it needs to get better quickly.
I'd go with the same XI as last night but perhaps with Caulker instead of Toure. Benteke to come on if it isn't working. Can isn't getting dropped/rested for Utd.
Its a no-brainer. We are playing Arsenal and Utd in the league in the next 10 days and have one foot in the League Cup final. With our injury situation, the 3rd round of the FA Cup is the lowest priority and the team tonight will reflect that.
Its interesting that Klopp prefers to keep him in midfield and drop Lucas back into defence when needed. Has he missed a game under Klopp other than at Newcastle when he was suspended?
All he has is a nice first touch and that turn. No acceleration, no physical strength. That would be OK if he had an eye for a quick incisive pass but he doesn't.
He has already improved Lovren and Moreno's performance levels and has worked out a centre-mid pairing in Can and Henderson that looks promising. It's the front four that are the biggest issue - Benteke has been getting all the intention but the return from Firmino and Lallana has been woeful. Even Coutinho is off his game. I'd be tempted to bring Coutinho into a more central position if we had better options out wide.
I'd be tempted to bring Ibe in for Firmino or Lallana (probably the latter) but reckon Klopp will stick to the same XI that played the majority of the Leicester game.
Thought he had a decent game. He still does the odd mad thing - he tried to do some kind of Cruyff turn/drag back in a heavily congested midfield in the 1st half yesterday.
