I'll tell you one thing - If Rafa or Wenger had taken the decision to play Rooney last night and it had blown up in their face, like it did last night, they would be getting slaughtered by the press this morning.
The only crumb of comfort I get about Purslow is that none of the individuals that I 'trust', i.e. Rafa or King Kenny, has said a bad word about him or indicated that he may be a snidey c***
What was he supposed to do when asked the question? Say "I hope so"? If he doesn't believe it, what would the players reaction have been? Which had the desired effect of putting more focus on the dodgy decisons that the Mancs get week in, week out Jesus wept. You'd have lynched Shankly for some of the stuff he said!
Two points: 1. Defending does not equal kicking the s*** out of the other team (with the ref turning a blind eye)and then launching a high ball into their area 2. Die you f***ing c***
Loved it when we beat Barcelona at the Nou Camp and, as the players were walking off the pitch, Bellamy walked up to Rafa, put his arm around his shoulder and said "You're a f*cking genius" Rafa just smiled
