What was he supposed to do when asked the question? Say "I hope so"? If he doesn't believe it, what would the players reaction have been? Which had the desired effect of putting more focus on the dodgy decisons that the Mancs get week in, week out Jesus wept. You'd have lynched Shankly for some of the stuff he said!
