I think we are just being impatient. You just cant be replacing almost half the team. You dont need a whole team of world beaters. Just because our players are not playing to their best now it doesnt mean they would do badly next season. Leicester is proving that you dont need a great squad to do well. You need a squad that has been playing together for awhile and it's not going to help if there are wholesale changes.

If we are insane enough to propose a massive clear out (like 5-6 first teamers), we better be prepared for another mediocre season. There are very few players who would hit the ground running and its too optimistic to think that ours would.

It's weird how some people saw the game and commented how we dont press. I thought we did press. And fairly well to be honest. What we didnt do well was deal with the lofted balls, especially the ones to the left of our penalty box. But that's the risk you take when you are pressing high. I also thought the team tried very hard to break West Ham down. Milner was outstanding in terms of effort and everyone did their part in trying to recycle the ball as quickly as possible. I dont understand why Rodgers is persisting with this lone striker formation. Everyone saw the impact Ings had when he came on. So I dont understand how people can say the players didnt try. Credit to them, they really did. It's our tactics (and squad selection) that's messed up.

I got the sense we bought players from Southampton because they played a brand of football that was closest to ours, not necessarily they were the best in their position. There's always a premium to buying premier league players but if they slotted in right away to add depth, it could have been well worth it. I think Rodgers assumed integrating them into our style of play would not be an issue. I dont have much of a problem with our purchases last summer - everything's easier on hindsight. The only purchase that I didnt understand was Balotelli. And I am more than 50% sure that was economically driven as in 16m seemed too low to ignore. They probably thought with his profile, they cant possibly lose more than 5m 1vs a more expensive option who flops. The only way to win the league would be to throw ridiculous money at it. Something our club would not be doing anytime soon.

I am not sure its leaders we need. You don't need leaders to move the ball quickly and making runs, driving hard into goal. We are lacking that this season. Too many triangle passes without any sort of objective.
