  1. Well, let me assure you they will do their utmost to prevent that from happening. Out of the first six matches, three would likely be away to a top six team, and two mid tab teams that we never seem to win. If Suarez ever did what Pepe from Madrid regularly dishes out to opponents, I suspect he might be given the death sentence.
  2. WTF Please please tell me we are going to appeal
  3. A dangerous one footed tackle is far more harmful to the game than his bite - I dont understand the uproar. It's not as if he has rabies or something. Ban him if he makes the masses happy but calling the club to let him go because of this? This world is mental enough to paint Cantona and Keane as good ambassadors of the game so maybe I shouldnt be surprised at this. Every other club in the premier league will take him in a heartbeat. They just dont want to admit it.
  4. I am likely to be alone in this but I think he's a very decent player. Was impressed with him last season esp when he played against us but I am not sure how he's currently doing in the championship.
  5. The Villa result and this are just unacceptable. And given that Villa leaked about 12 goals after our game against them, that makes the whole picture look even more grim. I do not accept that we have a poor squad. With the players at our disposal, we should not be leaking goals like this. Our back five are good players, players that would easily slot into the teams that comprehensively defeated us. A good manager is someone who is able to help the team punch above its own weight. Unless you are telling me the current squad we have belong to the bottom tier of the premiership, I dont see Rodgers as currently doing a good enough job. Instilling a particular footballing philisophy is admirable. But it becomes tricky for a club like Liverpool because there are certain expectations to be met. You cannot be doing that at all costs, the club cannot afford it.
  6. I would give them downing and pay up to 5 mil. He's better than most strikers out there - he just needs the right club.
  7. We should rest Gerrard, Allen, and Johnson. Skrtel's usually quite fit over the season but knowing our luck with injuries, am tempted to wrap him up in cotton wool.
  8. saddest match for me in a while...
  9. hes a good manager but an even better value investor.
  10. are we looking at a loan deal for sturridge or a permanent one? wouldnt he cost in excess of 15 mil?
  11. i would prefer a centre half to have a good positional awareness than be lightning quick. once you get past a minimum level of speed, the marginal utility of it diminishes. Luiz is fast but his positioning is suspect.
  12. Manchester United appear to have beaten rivals Manchester City to the signing of Universidad de Chile striker Angelo Henriquez as the player is reported to have undergone a medical. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1133691/reports:-manchester-united-close-on-angelo-henriquez?cc=4716
  13. sound - his voice aint great touch - more than decent range of passing - didnt see much of it ability to carry forward at decent pace - only to the ball backwards and almost never run at the full back
  14. - Carra's first instinct after passing the ball is to move three steps backwards - Pacheco has pretty good footwork - You know Cole's tired when he rests his hands on his waist
  15. Its very very odd. Hes obviously basing his decision on what he had seen over last season and came to the conclusion that its a square peg round hole thing. Would be interesting to see who he brings in to replace Carroll.
  16. Exactly, I dont think he is too. He wasnt the only underperformer last season and its a real waste if we dont give him one more season. And before you say 35 mil, look past that - hes not a 35 mil striker, most likely never will be and we have already spent it. And if BR is confident he can find another striker who can fit into his system seamlessly with funds from a Carroll's sale, by all means, flog Carroll to someone else but dont loan him out. That doesnt make any sense.
  17. I wld be very disappointed if Carroll was sold. He's quite good with the ball at his feet than people credit him for. Just because he is built like a big man, doesnt mean he cant play good passing football.
  18. And on the same note, 31 year old Park is sold to QPR for 5 mil. Unbelievable.
  19. Saw Krasic play more than a few times and he didnt impress me. But I also said Robbie Keane was going to be some player for us so my ability to spot players is obviously suspect.
  20. My guess too. Would be disappointed if Carroll, Enrique or Coates were sold.
  21. Saw an article today regarding some uncertainty about Lee's future given Botlon's relegation. He's a good player, young, ideal replacement for someone like Kuyt and probably wouldn't mind playing for a mid table team.
  22. Absolutely right. If they are as smart as they are suppose to be, I fail to understand how they don't see that.
  23. I can only hope that Whelan is just trying to stroke his massive ego about how a club like Liverpool actually offered a job to Martinez and he turned it down to stay at Wigan. Surely that isn't a remote possibility?
  24. erm, what? Who wrote that?
