He's great on the ball, and would have a much greater assist stat if those on the end of his crosses and passes had a greater conversion rate. If he plays a more central role, which could very well be the case next season, he'll get more goals. He couldn't even run properly last year, let alone with pace. He has lost a lot of his pace, which I don't believe that he'll get back. Despite this, his recovery has been remarkable, his time on the field unbelievable and his effort outstanding. He turned the Oz WC qualifier on it's head when he came on, and he hasn't looked back since. He is class, and I doubt that Rafa will get rid.... even if he ends up as a classy squadie!

Not his best game, but most of our movement was down the right. That's the way the game flows sometimes. I actually thought that he served the ball up to Morientes on a plate.

He's brilliant, and you've just gotta love his composure. IMO not a struck match between Sami and Didi as Ged's best buy .... and I may also add that after such a long time out, I tip my hat to one Harry Kewell.

Methinks Kewell is very very tired. He's been a permanent for many games now. The one game where he gets a break, and he's on after 20. I still take my hat off to him, though. Overall, the spark and intelligence/inventiveness is back, even though he's still a fraction off the pace.

Better to happen now, than closer to Rafa's contract end. Anyway, I'd be surprised if Rafa let down all the young kids that he's brought in, by leaving sooner rather than later. He's in for the long haul and is building a dynasty, and he'll be forever known as one of the true greats of Liverpool and football.

It was nice to see the warm acknowledgment of each others efforts, between SG and HK, after the goal. They tend to celebrate their's and the team's goals separately, and I haven't seen that between them for a while.
