That was a strange game last night, every single one of them played badly, kuyt apart We where very lucky to come away with a point last night, they got their tactics spot on and pressed high up the pitch especially when carragher and hyppia had it. I thought they looked a really good team

The reason people are p'ssed off about portsmouth is they beleive we drew because we decided to rest several players because they played in internationals in a very, very tricky away game If torres, babbel, kuyt, gerrard etc can not play 38 league games plus internationals then they need to change the training They will ALL play tonight which antognises people even more, why not play them saturday and rest them tonight, none of us want the champions league more than the premiership Another point on this is why is an international game any more strenuous than a midweek champions league or premiership game, what are we saying, if gerrard or torres play wednesday night in the league or in europe then we are always going to rest them the following saturday ? We are only a few games into the season for god sake, gerrard has just had two games off, torres did not play in any of the toulouse legs. This was a very tricky game, we had a chance to make a huge statemement of intent and put some pressure on arsenal, utd and chelsea. The very best players should play in every league game, especially every away league game. To suggest gerrard and torres could not have played 60 or 70 minutes comfortably against portsmouth is ridiculous this early in the season. Is he going to do the same against Everton and Newcastle ? The caveat to all that is we never lost and we have still not conceded a goal from open play, but I think we could have won that game at full strength and want to see us at full strength for EVERY league game

I would disagree with that We can manage a lot better without gerrard than we can without torres. We desperately, IMO, need to cash in on crouch and buy another dynamic, fast striker. I have always thought this team would be brilliant with a world class striker and when torres plays this shows, we need another one with pace for when he is rested or injured

Tough sh'te, he was atrocious against Portsmouth and torres shows every time he plays how good this team could be with a genuine world class striker playing

He has not been outstanding for ages to be honest, even against derby when he scored twice I thought he was outshone by mascerano. Mascerano looks like one of the best players on the pitch every time he plays and I think xabi needs to buck himself up a bit to fight him off now mascerano will not be travelling all over the worl to play for argentina and will be available more

Instead of focusing on the players who where left out Ask yourself why players like crouch, benayoun, alonso, pennant etc failed to take a game by the scruff of the neck when the big boys were not there. Alonso especially, with mascerano outstanding every time he plays needs to have a look at himself None of them can moan about being left out when they play like that and the fact we came away with a point and learnt a lot about a few players is positive

Play gerrard, kuyt, babbel and torres for every league game where they are fit to play, not interested in europe, not interested in the worthington cup and I am not interested in the FA cup. They can play 38 games plus internationals easy as well as a few champions league games But saying that it is about time players like alonso started dominating games and stepping up to the plate when gerrard does not play.

I would agree with that Rest them for the porto game, saturday is more important that Tuesday for me, but as other posters have said I think we will go sissoko/alonso and crouch/voronin sat and mascerano/gerrard and kuyt/torres tuesday due to the internationals, mind you I think voronin played twice for the ukraine, dont know about Kuyt so he may start with crouch on Saturday instead of voronin

We will be ok as long as torres plays, he is the one player who makes us different from what we where last season. I dont fancy a crouch/voronin partnership up front and alonso/sissoko partnership in the middle on Saturday to be honest but I think that is what we might play due to internationals

England should never be allowed to give a player a pain killing jab That is wrong and Liverpool should tell the f'ckers in no uncertain terms that they are not allowed to patch up an injured player and play him. We pay his wages If he is fit to play without an injection then by all means play, if not then he doesnt. If england give him an injection it is an absolute disgrace and I hope rafa does throw a wobbly about it I would hope that gerrard does not force the issue as well and demands an injection or I will be well p'ssed off with him
