Both league games actually To be pedantic

Difficult one this I dont think alonso is playing very well at the minute, mascerano on the other hand was outstanding against tolouse Horses for courses as other posters have said

Its not hard to see why torres played further forward than Kuyt and why Kuyt will never play as the main forward Pace torres can play on the shoulder of the last defender because he has the pace to beat him if put through, Kuyt does not I cant see where all the people on here are coming from when they speak about Kuyt being played as a main striker, he does not have the pace nor the strength to play as the figurehead of a strikeforce Torres will play as the main striker, kuyt off him

We were playing the best team in the country yesterday lads Forget Utd, great team as they are, they overachieved last season, Chelsea are the ones to beat this season and we where the better team. in control and creating chances repeatedly We made them look sh'te especially in the first half. I was hugely impressed by Liverpool yesterday we are starting to look a formidable team, you are only ever one injury away from disaster of course with torres for example, if we lost him long term we would be in trouble but I like the look of us this season It sounds strange and I know everyone is looking at how we do in the league, but I want us to get Ac Milan in Europe again. This will show how we have gone from the start of the re-building process, to work still in progresss to finally almost there If torres had played in athens and gerrard had played central midfield instead of as a striker we would have won that game comfortably

Disagree Several things where different from last seasons Liverpool 1) Left back - he has finally realised riise is not the best defender and has decided to use riise higher up the pitch and get a proper solid defender in at left back, whether that be arbeola or heinze 2) Central midfield - he has decided to loosen the shackles on central midfield and play gerrard and alonso who are finally going to get the chance to work on a partnership, I wouldnt mind mascerano in there, either him or alonso would do for me but now gerrard, the best centre midfielder in the world iis playing central, which leads nicely onto 3 3) Pennant is finally starting to develop into the player we all hoped he would be and that means we do not need to use gerrard there anymore. Pennant was fantastic yesterday, would alves for example have offered any more than pennant yesterday ? I do not think he would. 4) We now have a balanced striking partnership in Kuyt and Torres that offers everything, workrate, movement, pace ability etc etc etc. We can play long, short, down the channels and either one of them can drop off into the hole. 5) Competition - Every player knows they have to perform or they will be out as there is a good player waiting to come in and take their place. As for the new signings, they where clever, quality signings. Yes they did not make the bench today but that is more an indication on the quality of our sqaud than the weakness of them. We where not a bad side last year yeh know, we did not need a major overhaul, just a bit of quality up front and out wide, and gerrard moved into the middle which is what we have now got

Pennant had his best game in a Liverpool shirt yesterday He was my MOM and I was suprised when they took him off. He is starting to look really, really good.

He is big, strong and has a good first touch, he also looks to be good in the air. He could play as a target man imo But also, he is mobile, skillfull and scores goals so can also play the kuyt roll Therefore, he can do everything crouch can and more, people may argue the same about kuytto be honest if he carries on his good form He could play the role we use crouch for, ie the target man I think as he is big and strong enough, therefore I think the balance of the squad would be better suited to a pacy striker than crouch, considering the other three we have. We would get a big fee for crouch as well

No way No way near enough creativity in the team with those three in the middle. If gerrard is out we will definately play 4-4-2 with kuyt and torres up front and alonso and mascerano in the middle, especially with us being at home. If gerrard plays, I can see torres playing up front on his own

To be honest, on early impressions voronin gives us everything crouch does and a bit more. Crouch has strengths but he is not mobile enough I think the balance of the squad would be better suited to Voronin. Torres, Kuyt and a striker with pace. Voronin and crouch are two similar for me

He was outstanding yesterday, as he was for a lot of games towards the end of last season, including the champions league final when he marked kaka out of the game He is a brilliant player who is getting better and better as he settles down If you are only picking two then it is gerrard and mascerano every time for me
