I've missed about 3 Irish home games (qualifiers & internationals) for the past 21 years. I posted very similar sentiments to the OP on the offal forum (I know....big mistake ) about 3 years ago and was immediately lambasted & personally abused for doing so by people who probably had an average age of 12..........I've never re-visited those forums since then. I just don't see the point of advertising where you are from when you go to support Liverpool. It also encourages chants like the bluenoses were chanting last Saturday ("f**k off back to Norway").
