A few of us anticipated a slow start to the season, as we had quite a few new players to bed in. We also had two injuries to defenders in our first game, which didn't help at all. I remember saying that if we were within 10 points at Christmas, then we had a chance. We weren't, so I don't think it was ever really 'on' this season. We still have lots of positives though. We've been bedding in a new centre back all season, yet we still have the best defence in the league. We've done this without our midfield enforcer for half of the season. We have a much better collection of strikers this season than last. We have new owners who are going to get our stadium built and will help us to challenge for the best players. And we have a match against Barca coming up.

What happened to FSP?

From what little we can glean, this sounds like what DIC just did - i.e. came back with a written offer that was less than they first stated. If so, then fine. If they don't value the club high enough then it's not the best deal for us.

A hypothesis that sounds reasonable until you include the fact that I don't live in the UK and am (mercifully) spared 90+% of the UK media 'coverage'. However there is a vague possibility that I form my opinions by actually watching football on TV (equally mercifully without the English commentary).

You have to take into account the team that each manager was inheriting as well, as that has a big bearing on those numbers. Rafa's win percentage is excellent. I'm not sure that win percentage figure for Dalglish is correct. I have sneaking suspicion that if he won 61 out of his first 100 games his win percentage should be 61% not 51%
