  1. Don't think Momo should play. He's really been shown up with this passing lately and against Aresenal you need to retain possession or they'll take the p*ss. Too many of our attacks have broken down through lack of creativity through the middle. Gerrard and Alonso in the middle for me with Pennant and Riise on the flanks.
  2. F*ckin made up Fergsuon did this. Shreeves is an utter bell. People on here were w*nking when they heard Carra verbally rattled him for picking on Crouchie. Those would have loved it even more if it was caught on camera.

That would kind of contradict with his comment about making it the best stadium in the world as well. I'm sorry but the virtual tour of the original design doesn't look anything like the best stadium in the world.

They played a snippet this morning. Basically saying the meeting is scheduled for the day after the Arsenal match; we won't be spending like Chelsea and Rafa is definitely the man they want to take us forward. Groundbreaking stuff.
  5. Oh the poor s*d. Madrid have been after him for years, so have the last 4 years been turmoil for him? Why would this be the last time they make a move for him? They'll keep trying until they eventually get him.
  6. Possibly. East of Manchester is Yorkshire though and i wouldn't imagine there are more mancs than Liverpool fans over there....in fact from what i can see (I live in Yorkshire now) there aren't. I grew up near near Wigan though and there are far more Liverpool fans than Mancs that way.
  7. Exactly the same for Liverpool I thought. Growing up in NW you either chose Liverpool, Everton or Utd in the 70's, 80's as NW didn't really have any other teams anywhere near the top flight
  8. Where do you get that impression? Every interview i've read Rafa has said he was not happy and the only positive he can take out of it is that we got a point. Too much selective reading/hearing from too many imo.
  9. Half the f*ckin players couldn't be a*sed. Blaming a lacklustre performance on the deliberate instructions of the manager beggars belief.
  10. Rafa will fight tooth and nail to keep Alonso, quite clearly he rates him as one of our most important players, if not the most important player we've got. He is very rarely rested and is never dropped for the bigger games often being our most influential player. If he does go Rafa will demand a decent price around the £15-20M mark i reckon. When he doesn't play we miss him badly and to lose him would be a serious blow though. It was only a fortnight ago that Xabi was saying he was happy to stay for a long time here so I wouldn't say he's more likely to go than not to be honest. The 70% prediction is baffling to say the least.
  11. A lot better. Which is the crux.
  12. Don't see why that would make any difference. If the hardcore are still there making a noise the atmos will virtually be the same as now depending on the design of the stadium.
  13. LIVERPOOL FC?s American owners have ordered an urgent rethink that will add thousands of extra seats to the new multi-million pound stadium in Stanley Park. Work on the new showpiece stadium at Stanley Park has been held up while designers examine ways of increasing the agreed capacity of 60,000. Businessmen Tom Hicks and George Gillett ordered architects and the planning team to urgently review the project with creating space for more fans as a key element. A senior source close to the project last confirmed to the Daily Post that a bigger-capacity ground was on the cards. ?There is an urgent review of the project which is going to take several weeks, and is likely to mean a bigger capacity for the ground,? said the source. City council planners insisted last night that a new planning application would have to be submitted if there were major changes to the plans. Liverpool FC officials at Anfield were remaining tight-lipped about the prospects of a bigger stadium. An LFC spokesman said: ?There is a total commitment to a new stadium, but the new owners are conducting a thorough review of the current proposals, to see if there is any way they can be improved.? The potential increase in seat numbers will now be one of the key decisions to be taken, but it is initially likely to be closer to 65,000, rather than suggestions of an 80,000 capacity. Preparatory work on the new ground in Stanley Park began just days ago, but last night was on temporary hold while the review is carried out. City council leader Cllr Warren Bradley, in the south of France for an international property exposition, told the Daily Post: ?The city will facilitate and enable but what I would say is if Liverpool FC feel they want somewhere bigger they?ve got to understand the planning process. ?The last thing we need is the regeneration of the Anfield/Breckfield area to be stalled if Liverpool FC brings forward a new plan. ?It could put it in jeopardy now that the plans have gone through the planning process and appeals, and I think it is important that the people of Anfield/Breckfield see the plans moving forward that will bring a new park and a district centre. ?Liverpool haven?t spoken to us yet.? Planning experts last night described how the club could extend its capacity without delaying the construction of the £200m stadium, due to open in 2009. The club could reconfigure the internal layout to create more seating space, and modify its plans to accommodate a future expansion of the seating capacity. That could be done in a way that would enable an extension to be bolted on without closing the ground. The club would need planning permission. Last night, Cllr Berni Turner, who has been made a director of the new council-LFC joint venture company to own the site said: ?I have spoken with senior officials and this is all pure speculation.? A city council spokesman said: ?Liverpool LFC is proceeding with its scheme for a 60,000-seat stadium at Stanley Park. No application has been received by us about extra capacity
  14. Great news. Makes sense and worth wait if i finally get my season ticket.
  15. It's obvious that Rafa tells him to play like this so lamenting Dirk about it is pointless

    Next round

Can't get English teams till semis can we?
  17. Still very one dimensional for me. His booking was naive but did well to control himself after that.
  18. Class. Thought it was something like that but didn't know the exact name.
  19. excuse my ignorance but what is the significance in the name Rafatollah?
  20. Scumbags everywhere. Isolated Manc fan was bombarded with Munich chants outside the ground by some naughty looking lads - at the end of dog sh*t alley that leads to the Kop. Wasn't pleasant.
  21. No he wasn't
  22. Dan

    Ferguson

Caller on 5 live last night said Ferguson appladed the kop and pointed at us saying "you're the greatest". Can't see him saying that - the mancs will be made up.

    Got a link?
  24. B*llocks I'm afraid.

    Momo

Momo is useless in the final 3rd. He is pretty one dimensional at this stage in his career if you really break it down i.e. breaks the play up. To claim he is better than Alonso (previous post) is madness. Great prospect and vital squad member yes.
