Ideally, but I just don't think he can do enough there now unless we speed up play and get it to him in those positions quicker. This is where he/we miss Trent massively... wasn't just that Trent could find him, but it's that he did so quickly so Salah had space and would find himself 1 v 1 at worst. We take too long now, so he gets the ball in a standing still position surrounded by defenders. Given the way we now play, I'd rather seem him in the middle up top, personally. My overall preference is to move the ball quicker though.

Salah did little to nothing. If you don't get him the ball high up the pitch he offers nothing else. Gonna be tricky for Slot to put him back in tbh.

More often than not he heads the ball up, not away. He's terrible at it. I'll try and find examples. Virg gets loads of distance on his headers by comparison. It's purely technique.

If he was moving in Jan I suspect it would have happened already. I think he's made his mind up that move for free in summer is better for him. I also feel he has committed to us for summer.

I know he's quick, but can he actually defend the box? Spurs have conceded tons since he's been there, and their record against set pieces is also shocking. I'm not sure he's actually that good, just quicker than most. Plus Isak tackle...

Anyone noticed he can't head properly? Watch him, he doesn't take his head back then through the ball, he just jumps into the ball and often uses the top of his head. It's quite funny actually.

Yep. He should he furtherest man forward when defending corners. Then Ali can ping the ball to him on counter attack. I reckon he's the fastest we've ever had.

We were always in for Guehi, but Palace were late in confirming they would even sell. That's why Glasner kicked off, as suddenly Palace wanted the money and were happy to do a deal. Guehi didn't just agree everything with us on deadline day, he was already on board. Palace were dicking around because of the Europe situation and the court challenge.

IMO, he constantly gets in the way of others all over the pitch. His positional sense is poor. When a player has the ball, he runs right over to them to receive a pass two yards away. When he's got the ball, he'll dribble all the way to the player then pass, when he could have passed with his second touch. And when he does receive a pass, he has no idea what he's doing next with it. Doesn't assess the pitch and plan his next move quickly. Just dribbles for a bit then does something. Technically brilliant, but really winds me up. I bet he's amazing in 5-a-side. He'll kill it in Baller League. But at his age, he should be established somewhere now. For me he's the same player he's always been, he hasn't developed his game. Plays the same now as he did 4 years ago. Maybe harsh, but he triggers me . I'd rather see him wide forward on the left than in midfield. Can use all his skills there and he's quite good at closing down quickly.

We play like a team of casual number 10's all over the pitch. A team full of peak James Milner's would beat our superstars every week.

I'm not swapping Slot for Alonso, I really don't see the difference. Brilliant player and I loved him when he played for us, but I loved Gerrard as well. Had Alonso been here first, then sure, but he wasn't. He chose Madrid instead and has been s***.

I think it's irrelevant what Liverpool, City or Palace wants. Guehi holds all the cards. Seems to me he's decide to wait, that way he gets complete control over who he signs for, and of course he gets more cash. There is literally no incentive for him to move right now. He's got whatever move he wants in the summer and guaranteed starting 11 for England in World Cup. He'll wait, nobody can force him to move. Fwiw, I think he comes to us for free.
