Yeah, I don't believe for one moment Slot would actually have used them, but they were our "youngsters". Clarke doing ok at Derby now, probably his level. Klopp was more than happy to use him.

The truth is, the fringe players we could have used and needed this season were all let go. Clarke, Morton, Quansah, Elliot.. etc. As a result, the youngsters we are left with are just that, youngsters, far too raw.

Slot was very quick at the start of the season to talk about the players we'd lost. Slot didn't identify a single one of our new signings. Equally, he would not have objected as we needed all of them. For example, we were always going to sell Darwin and replace him (Isak) and with Jota's passing we needed another (Ekitike). We needed another right back, we needed another left back, we needed a creative 10.... We should have kept Quansah and Diaz, but I think Diaz wanted out. To @Ombudsam post, whilst I can align with a lot of it, equally, on paper, our starting 11 if everyone playing how we know they can is lethal!
