Because someone of Barnes' ability using words like discipline and humility, also in the face of racism on the pitch, to me shows a good example of character and respect. Raheem has got a lot to learn.

It's a sad day but Im pleased he's going to experience playing elsewhere if only for a couple of years as it's obviously something he wants to do, as long as it's not against us as he says. Absolute professional and legend. Have nothing but best wishes for him. Perhaps a role at the academy to begin with? Huge influence for the young lads

It's the huge step backwards from the heights of last season combined with an current inability to get the best out of the players he has got. Has he got the ablility to turn this around? Yes I think he could have, but I'm not sure he's the type to experiment or make changes. Hope he does.

Thought he was looking pretty good and up for it when he came on. Bearing in mind the creativity and movement issues in the team what have we got to lose. Give him games.

Do we have a defensive coach? If we do, sack them and get someone good in. Maybe tap Hyypia on the shoulder and offer the no.2 spot with defense coaching...ok he wouldn't do it but worth a shot
