Think he originally agreed to take that job before Klinsmann was offered it but then changed his mind.

He may not be as fast as he was but I think he can fairly move when he wants to now. He's just more comfortable operating in space at the moment I think - seen him outstrip a full back a few times for a 50/50 ball but then seems reluctant to take that defender on at pace. He's been letting the defenders set themselves and then tries to beat them with trickery - which has worked on occasion but I think running at pace is more effective. Just something I've noticed, he's been bloody excellent since he came back in general so I'm not complaining.

Don't think I was criticising him as such, just pointing out that he hasn't been doing it recently. He's been taking the safe option a lot of the time and a lot of the time that's the correct decision. I just know that he is capable of taking on players and had noticed he'd been reluctant to do so recently - which I personally think is a confidence issue.
