  2. Has had a few decent games against us down through the years though (as far as I remember anyway).
  3. Read an article by Michael Walker from a couple of days ago in which he described the 'famous loyalty' of Newcastle fans...
  4. What's that meant to mean, you dopey wagon? All that means is that you ?read that? Danny ?got some stick ? on his return to Anfield last week? after having been ?up in Newcastle? where he ?spoke to Michael Owen?. But if I extract the gist from your muddled confusement, it seems to be yet another example of Danny Murphy's weird vendetta. Shut up, the pair of yiz. 1135897[/snapback] Reckon she was going to write Michael told Danny all about the abuse he got, but Danny's probably censoring her stuff these days.
  5. Wonder what this refers to?
  6. Good player - would rather see him go to Chelsea where he isn't needed than to the Mancs where he most certainly is needed.
  7. Personally I think Given is seriously overrated. He is an awesome shot stopper, but his positioning and decision making are quite suspect. The amount of times he pushes the ball into dangerous positions after making a good first save is unreal. Good goalies put those kind of shots around the post/ over the bar, Given knocks them back into the danger area. He was also criticised quite severly in the leaked Chelsea scout report.
  8. Agreed. A goal like that happens every couple of weeks in the Premiership, where it hits off the post and then hits the keeper and goes in. Can't believe they are even questionning it to be honest.
  9. Did he ever touch the sign when he played for us? Think he was one of the players that didn't touch it, so why should he start now?

  11. "lets face it there's not much to his [Owen's] game" - cos you really set the world alight when you were a player didn't you Charlie!

  14. Cool - thanks for that man - will have to look into something in the new year so.

  16. You know something, you could be actually. That's a bit scary considering how much time we've spent slagging off Ger Gilroy on this forum in the past

  18. So is the reverse true then? We could sign a player who was playing in the UEFA and he'd be eligible for the CL?
  19. Thanks for that mate, very interesting.
  20. There was speculation to that effect on Irish radio earlier today. Posts merged: Don't think that's true. You can only play for one team in Europe per season and then you're cup tied as far as I remember.
  21. What are their main dangers Maldini?
  22. Agreed, especially with the way his game has developed over the last couple of years. He will sit in front of their back four (obviously a loose term when talking about Real) and mop up in the way Makelele does for Chelsea. All the Real players seem to want him in and I was listening to some vox pop with Real fans yesterday and they all seemed to want him too. I think he's actually the perfect player for Real at this point in time. Having said all that I wouldn't be surprised to see him sign for Celtic, Bolton or Everton. Perez started rowing back on the comments about him very quickly yesterday - kinda suggested to me that they may be more interested than he is.
  23. As Alan Partridge would say - mentalist.
  24. Deco was arguably Barca's most important player last season - however he's gone off the boil a bit this season (was even dropped for a game) and has been talking in the press about the atmosphere being better during Portugal get togethers etc, etc. Wouldn't really fit into our team though, especially when there is a nice Riquelme shaped hole there
