  1. Do you reckon he'll ever leave Matty? Wonder if Juve will come in for him if they get rid of Del Piero, or Inter if they lose Adriano.
  2. I know he has done it but he just hasn't been trying to beat his man all that often lately - seems reluctant to take them on a lot. Was very noticeable against Eboue last week. Not that he's played badly, he's been excellent but it's just something that has struck me of late. Thanks Pat and I might just take you up on that at some point
  3. Was talking about this after the Arsenal game. I think Kewell has been excellent since he came back from injury and has been very consistant in his attitude and performance. However I do take Pat's point about his inability to beat his man. I honestly think it's just a confidence thing with him. He's clearly still quite quick and has regularly been beating his man to 50/50 balls when they are in space... however he just seems too slow to go at his man when he is dribbling at them and invariably looks for the 'safe' option. He is actually slowing up when he gets to his man and waiting for them to correct their positionning instead of going at them with pace. Nothing wrong with that, but it's just an aspect to his game that he doesn't seem to have full confidence in at the moment.
  4. I was like that too and I watched the TV on the telly. Did no one else notice the ironic cheers from the Kop on the couple of occasions in the second half when he gave us a free?
  5. You'd swear Didi was a big game player or something!!!
  6. He's Freddy Adu's son.
  7. I thought it was one of the worst away performances I've seen at Anfield - EVER. They were a joke, I'd be absolutely gutted with that performance if I was an Arsenal fan at the moment.
  8. Weren't you tipping for the Ireland manager's gig though?
  9. Missed the interview, what did he say?

  11. Maldini will know more about this but I think they still use Pat Devlin as their main Irish scout...

  14. Have to say I can't understand the preference for Defoe over Owen either. See that's more like it
  15. Is that down to us not particularly rating him or him not being happy playing second fiddle?

  17. That's right about Leeds, they beat Stuttgart in a 'third' leg (having originally lost on away goals) but Stuttgart brought on one 'foreigner' too many. That result set up a tie with Rangers. The winner of that qualified for the Champions League, which at that time only consisted of two groups of four teams with the top two going to the final. Rangers came second in their group that year, behind Marseille I believe.
  18. Cop yourself on would you. No one has said that there's a problem with criticising things or expressing disappointment, its the going over the top that you and others have been guilty of that we are annoyed with. Take things in perspective. Some of the posters on here act like everything is completely black and white, when its not. Sometimes we win and play badly (eg. against Man City) and no one bats an eyelid, next minute we loose having played well and its the end of the world, we're s**** and everything needs to be fixed. It's never that clear cut FFS. However I will give you credit for not being a knee jerker, you always stick to being a negative miserable fecker. Cheer up lad would ya
  19. If it was limited to disappointment no one would have a problem with it, but it's not. Some people really are making out that its all 'doom and gloom' and that's what's annoying. A bit of perspective is all I'm advocating and not the kind of 'up one minute, down the next' view that has been seen in this thread.
  20. Agreed, this place is going to the dogs, it really is. Beginning to remind me of the 'other place'. It's like everyone's feckin manic depressive.

  22. I don't know what to say to you. If you can't see the benefits that he is bringing to the team and the difference he is making then there is no point in trying to explain it to you. He has been a fantastic signing and is vital to the side that Rafa is building. He wasn't bought to score goals, he was bought to hold the ball up, bring the midfielders into the play and to create opportunities for others - that is his main function in the team and it is a role he has been filling fantastically. If he gets a few goals too its an added bonus.
  23. Can't believe people are having a go at Crouch again... I see the kneejerks have been well and truly let loose. Baros... I ask you! Why did we ever let Sean Dundee go is what I want to know - he was treated like a dog.
  24. Never heard that before. Hilarious!!!!
