  1. Agree, but another reason our transfer activity could be limited is if we’ve missed out on the players Klopp actually wants. He won’t sign players for the sake of signing them as we’ve already seen in previous summers. As an example it does look like Werner has chosen to go to Bayern and he seemed to be a long standing target.
  2. Really wonderful, moving post that kop205. Thanks for sharing. Fairytales don’t always need a trophy. Just the moments can be magic too.
  3. Phil Thompson suggesting we should take Coutinho back. FWIW. Seen another piece suggesting Chelsea are the only Premier League club interested.
  4. Suggestions the Hazard deal is done and will be announced day after Europa League final.
  5. Draxler might be easier
  6. Werner has supposedly told Leipzig that he’s only interested in going to Bayern. Ties in with the reports from about Feb that they were his choice. Leipzig looking for €60m for him. Would also explain why we seem to have developed an interest in Pepe from Lille (but unfortunately PSG would appear to be the favourites there).
  7. So this is interesting... Suggests ourselves, Juventus and Spurs have all agreed terms with Ndombele from Lyon. FWIW, it had been looking like he was all set for PSG this summer. https://readliverpoolfc.com/2019/05/08/liverpool-reportedly-agree-terms-over-ndombele-deal/
  8. Egyptian media are apparently reporting he has a concussion and won’t play.

  13. Again they’re just protecting his value. Even if his value doesn’t go up, without a receding contract he’s going to be valued at £20m+. So even at the numbers you’ve suggested that’s still a profit. Plus they’ll have to replace him if he goes. By the way, not advocating keeping him... just think that’s how FSG may be considering things.
  14. Doesn’t need to go up, just not diminish to zero. And his value last summer was more than that without him doing much on loan, we were supposedly asking for £27m for him.
  15. I’d say he’d get a loan handily enough but transfer fee and decent wages (currently estimated at £60k per week) for an inconsistent keeper might have put the buyers off last summer. Remains to be seen if they’ll be more tempted for a player who doesn’t get games this summer but Bournemouth were linked the other day.
  16. https://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/liverpool-super-sub-set-be-offered-new-contract-report If you look at FSG’s past behaviour it makes sense as it protects the value of the asset. He’s on a Bosman next summer otherwise, whereas if he signs a new deal they have a longer period to get their money’s worth out of him (either on the pitch or by selling him down the line). Still reckon this was the (mistaken) rational behind Mignolet getting a new deal when Klopp was only a few months into the job.
  17. Big money required alright but maybe not 90m. My guess is that if we’ve missed out on Werner (Bild reported a while back that he’d agreed terms with Bayern) then the most serious consistent link recently seems to be with Pepe from Lille. He’s valued at €70m but there would appear to be significant competition for him.
  18. That makes sense and ties in with what Klopp has been saying and with whoever briefed Joyce back in Feb. There will be more scope on the wage bill with Sturridge going though and potentially Milner and Lallana also departing. Gonna be hard to shift Mignolet because of his wages, more possibilities around Origi but there’s also a suggestion we may offer him a new deal.

  20. Think Real’s midfield priority is Pogba, plus I reckon Zidane got some guarantees on transfer approval when he came back. Wouldn’t surprise me if he put a block on that deal. From Rabiot’s side I get a sense he might fancy a move to us. But beyond something from Andy Hearon early in the season, there’s not been much to suggest the feeling is reciprocated.
  21. Yeah. I think he had agreed terms with Real Madrid but latest speculation seems to be that they no longer want him.
  22. A few of them would need to take wage cuts (I’m looking at you Ozil) but most of those won’t need to - given the money available now. The older players there are harder to shift but several of them are out of contract this summer/ or have only a year to go.
  23. I think you’re thinking of Jimenez. They signed Jota on a permanent basis last summer after he was on loan the season before.
  24. Sure, a sizable portion of those won’t move (and undoubtedly in some cases the current speculation is there to get a new/ better contract). However I don’t think I can remember a previous season when there has been reasonable speculation about so many established ‘names’/ expensive prospects this close to the end of the season. Add in the need for a refresh at several large clubs and the largesse of the Premier League, I think there’s going to be more movement at the higher reaches of the market than normal.
  25. Looking like this could be a very interesting summer with quite a bit of movement. Some of the ‘bigger names’ (admittedly some ‘bigger’ than others) or players who would attract significant fees/ wages potentially on the move include: Hazard Pogba Bale Cavani Icardi Kroos Modric De Gea Lewandowski Griezmann Icardi Insigne Eriksson Jovic Diego Costa Alderweireld Weigl Dybala Mata Herrera NDombele Fekir Pepe Higuain Douglas Costa Malcom Lozano Werner Depay Ozil Saul Rodri Rabiot Rodriguez De Ligt Felix This is probably just the tip of the iceberg.
