Liverpool interest in Lloyd Kelly The Daily Mail have published a big transfer rundown of the ‘Big Six’s’ plans for the summer window with clubs official open for business from today. It’s nothing revelatory in the eyes of Robins fans but in terms of Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp is expected to do minimal business in terms of marquee arrivals and instead will focus on, “young, hungry players who can put the current first team under pressure”. A shortlist of five names includes Lloyd Kelly who has been scouted by a number of Premier League sides and as Bristol Live reported earlier this month, Southampton made enquiries in January and may well return again over the next three months. However, our understanding is that City’s £18 million plus valuation of the 20-year-old coupled with his comparative lack of first-team games in the Championship, means top-flight clubs may feel it’s an expensive risk this summer. Bristol City head coach Lee Johnson is also expected to use Kelly more as a centre-back next season as he considers that his natural position.

I don’t think being outside the Champions League places will have much impact on Man United’s recruitment efforts. Reckon the OTT wages they seem to offer will make up for it.

Transfer window for the Premier League opens tonight apparently. Will be interesting to see if there are any early deals done.

I like Origi. He’s had a really good attitude. Made a deeply significant contribution from limited game time this season. But he doesn’t really fit in with how we play. We don’t keep the ball well in the final third when he’s playing unfortunately. Klopp also seems to want him to play from the left which usually involves a shuffling of the forward line and that in turn also, usually, makes us less effective as an attacking threat. Do think he will be offered a new contract but I also think his place in the squad is an area we could improve this summer.

Bayern are interesting this summer. Being linked with all sorts of top players, having already signed Pavard and Hernandez. You’d suspect they must be budgeting for some significant outgoings too. I’d take Thiago if he’s available.

Have seen next to nothing of him. But he was being touted as a goal scorer a while back and as you say his numbers have fallen off. Also failed at Juve.

In other news Berardi of Sassuolo has said his dream transfer would be to us. Think we were after him a while back, possibly when Rodgers was still in charge.

Reckon he’ll stay put if Leverkusen make the Champions League next season. Think his clause only applies if they don’t. One game to go in the Bundesliga and they’re outside the top four on goal difference. Monchengladbach ahead of them by +2 goals. Monchengladbach play at home against Dortmund next week, Leverkusen away to Hertha Berlin.
