That’s a bit harsh. If you’re gonna criticse one of the centre backs for their goal, it’s on VVD. Doesn’t look at any point to see where Giroud is and leaves Lovren having to mark two of theirs. He’s behind Giroud as well so was always going to struggle to win that. -
Last I read was that we hoped he'd be back for the start of pre-season training. Not sure if anything's changed since then.

I get what you mean now. if he doesn't play then yeah probably not. I just meant he could still improve a fair bit that's all. 24 is still young for a keeper. But anyway I don't think we can afford to rely on him possibly improving so hopefully a keeper is still a priority this summer.

Yeah he's going to need a lot of help in the final with Marcelo and Ronaldo on that side.

How do you work that out? I want a replacement this summer but to be fair to him he's 24, which is pretty young for a goalkeeper and played less than 50 times for us so he could still improve. I mean, he already has improved significantly from when he first arrived.

Agree completely. Can’t think of another left back off the top of my head who id prefer than him. Playing for an amateur side in Scotland less than 5 years ago. Relegated with Hull last season. To this ... amazing.

I saw someone link to a news article on Facebook, probably should have checked how reliable it was first but never mind. Looks like a few papers going with it though from a quick google. But yeah looks like happening whether it’s official or not.

Agreed. But you’ve got to think we’d get a lot of joy with Salah down the right based on the amount of time Marcelo spends up the other end of the pitch. Doesn’t exactly race back into position either. -

He's great. We definitely need competition and if someone turns out to be better than him then sound but he's an absolute nuisance for defenders. Plus he's still going to end on 20ish goals for the season.

They’ll play a high line again and we’ll create plenty of chances again. Their manager didn’t change tactics when 2-0 down at half time so he’s not going to when they need to win by three. Fancy us to get a couple at least.

Doesn’t reflect well on Dalglish if it was all down to Suárez and that’s it. -
I’m not convinced either. Not that down about the result though. 3/4 of the back four changed and no surprise all the previous weaknesses come back.
