Yeah I don’t see it either. If he’s failed a medical then the only way we’d go ahead is if it’s incentive based and can’t see them selling their captain if they’re not guaranteed the whole amount. It’d be a shame though as it really would be the best summer I can ever remember if we got him (it’s still up there even without).

If we don’t sign him I assume it’d be Keita or Lallana as the furthest forward of the three in midfield? Considering Lallana’s injuries over the last year or so and AOC out for the season, it does leave us a little light. Would also mean Shaqiri would have a much bigger role to play than maybe we thought. I don’t want to be relying on Sturridge or Origi at all.

Basically couldn’t praise him enough. Said he was a phenomenal goalkeeper and we’d be getting as good a keeper as there is. Great season last year etc. Was asked about any negatives and didn’t have any. I know it’s just one person’s opinion but he’s seen a lot more of him than I have so was good to hear.

This team will get loads of credit and be labelled brave etc but not sure if they deserve I t. The only sides they beat in 90 mins are Costa Rica, Panama and Sweden. Lost against Belgium. Had to rely on pens against a Colombia side without their best player and then knocked out against the next decent side they faced. That was their chance because when’s the next time the likes of Germany, Brazil, Spain, Argentina etc are all poor in the same tournament? Not to mention Italy and Holland who didn’t even qualify.

There is not a chance that City, Chelsea, United etc would persist with Karius in our position so neither should we. I'd also take Butland now and really didn't want him earlier this summer.

Even if we can’t get one of the top lads we’ll have to settle for the tier below. He absolutely cannot start as number one. His confidence is absolutely shattered and the sarcastic cheers he’s going to get every time he catches (wishful thinking) a cross is hardly going to help.

Think Courtois is being over-rated a bit here. Seems to have made loads of mistakes over the last year or so. It goes without saying I’d have him in to replace Karius like but it’s never gonna happen.
