Hus

Unfortunately, hard to get excited with Slot in charge. A couple of wingers aren't fixing our Sunday league OOP setup, how we defend set pieces or all the other issues we have. It just smacks of the Eddie & Co trying to shift the focus away from the Slot s*** show.

Apparently, this was put up outside the AXA today. Interesting move from the club

He's the guy who has been sharing info re lineups for a little while, was also the one who reported that Mo had been dropped / benched.

Agree, thought he was well off the pace. Game passing him by, said as much to a friend of mine and then he got a jammy assist for Haalands goal. I'll take that as my contribution to our quest for CL qualification.

There appear to be a number of rumours floating around. Most seem to agree that he's gone, and depending on tonight's result, it could be announced before the Brentford game. I dont see that happening (i.e. it being announced before Brentford even if Bournemouth lose), though I think it might start getting mentioned as a possibility by various journalists. Honesb is getting alot of mentions, Iraola too. But you know, lots of speculative chancers looking for engagement and their viral moment of fame. I was certain he was done a few weeks ago, but I have been wavering, especially post the Alonso news.

He probably would have done a better job this season!

Exactly. You have a few injuries, coach, motivate and drill the players to get the results you need. Implement an approach that helps mask the weaknesses. Utilise the WHOLE f***ing squad, not just those you think are at the level needed.

Agree. I meant him coming back as manager and if true* would likely result in the departure of Edwards. *Very unlikely I know.

Ooooooh I wonder if that's what Chris was hinting at earlier, he did say there would have to be changes at director level, don't see Edwards going over Hoeneb (sp?). I'm in danger of getting my hopes up...must resist.

I think that's unlikely, if anything starting Mo would help Slot as both he and Robbo should getting all our focus. With no Mo, when folks are not singing for him they'll most likely be be directing their anger at Slot. Though, saying that if Slot knows he's gone it wouldn't be a surprise, one last opportunity to try and assert his control over a legend.

This is a real zinger* *Sorry, thought a little "happy place" speculation would help.

Anyone but Slot

If he's still in situ for Brentford with no solid rumours re him going, Anfield will be really toxic. Especially with the Alonso news, and if he thinks to drop Mo....

Now confirmed by Ornstein. 4 year deal.

I had doubts as to whether he was the answer, but he definitely would have united the fan base and given us a much needed lift after the shambles that is Slot.

He should go later today or tomorrow just to keep the pressure on. Mo's statement got a mention as "breaking news" during the comms of the FA Cup final on R5

Yes Calvin! Poor chap is probably going to be sent to the shadow realm after that.

I genuinely thought his account had been hacked, wow, if it was ever in doubt, he's one of us!

Yep, that's right. I recall him being quite active on all things bundesliga a while back.

He rarely posts, used to work in journalism (iirc), it's only recently that he's started commenting on what he thought was going on / how Barrett & Co work in the background etc.

Ps, I know it's the chicken man but.... I mentioned earlier in the thread that some of Slots recent actions feel like self sabotage (though, to be clear I still think he's nowhere near the level we need, so many issues with his approach, man management etc), but is this in part Edwards looking to force the situation re his role? He's already made it abundantly clear that he won't be extending, does he want a payout too? It's probably just speculative nonsense, but the way in which they have kept him on, poses so many questions.

I'm not going to comment on it having to get to this point but...this is something.

Agree, I think it's very unlikely, his lack of tactical nous is clear for all to see. His comments say alot about him and how he views himself, I think it's safe to assume that he is not someone who appreciates being challenged or criticised, the constant deflection of any blame. He's not the right fit for us, never will be, not now.
