Us, lots of possession but few clear cut opportunities. Haven't really worked the keeper much. Them, terrible but still creating chances and are carrying some threat when they actually string a couple of passes together. I'll only unclench when we have another 2 goals.

Exactly, some of our lads have definitely dropped off or are struggling with form, but Slot is not helping them. The patterns of play are almost non existant, we're not setup to get the best out of what we have. We're heavily reliant on individual moments of skill, which is why in part, we're so inconsistent. Said moments get you results when you're struggling or having a bad game, but in our current form we struggle to win games without them. The slow OAPesque football negates the strengths we have available. I am loath to put all the blame on the Slot, but it takes a reach to come to any other conclusion.

I keep seeing rumours / speculation that he's going in the summer, and that he knows. Expect they're looking at the rest of the league and thinking even in our current state, we can limp on to sneak fifth. If you consider the players we have, it should be possible, but I can't see it atm, we're bad in every phase of play. We may save a few ££s in severance, but how much will not qualifying for the CL cost? Whoever did that math should be out the door with him imo.

True. Also, though I dont catch it often I did listen to The Athletic LFC pod yesterday (with James Pearce and co), and they were pretty scathing re Slot. I think that's quite telling, he usually chooses his words very carefully and keeps to the club stance.

This is interesting, the shift in style of play is just so dramatic, at least last season it felt like we had more verticality, we did move the ball at pace more often.

Alot of his quotes seem to suggest that there are disagreements behind the scenes, I expect he's being told that the squad is stronger than he believes. Though there are issues (which we can all see) he could help himself by trusting more than 2.5 players. TBH I have stopped paying attention to what he says, if he wants to talk himself out of a job I'll have no complaints.
