I cant recall him having the serious injuries those guys had.

Interesting one, He was being fouled at the time which could easily have caused him to go over the ball rather than make a clean contact. Maybe that's why the VAR refs didn't make anything of it. I don't recall an example similar where a red card type tackle was likely caused by an ongoing foul.

i think that's the case with mitigating circumstances if there is no chance of a custodial sentence. his brief can enter a guilty plea in absentia, or he could have already pleaded guilty by proxy or some such stuff.
