  1. But we still struggled to score against teams at home and we deffo did last night. Suarez has carried on having a great season playing in behind a striker (Sturridge) but we looked more likely to score, that's why I dont get why he changed it last night, think it cost us.
  2. I'm sure I seen somewhere that said we had the best defensive home record before last night as well
  3. Maybe, I dont understand the reasoning of it at all though, looked strange before the game and deffo did after it.
  4. We have been playing well recently, one of the main reasons is we have had a real outlet up front and Suarez has benefited from this to. Why o why we didn't swap as like for like as we can last night and put Borini in up top and keep the same system is beyond me. Borini may have been underwhelming so far but he would have provided us with someone who could have held that position up front, made those runs and given us someone to aim for when we did go forward. Playing a young and totally out of form midfielder in place of our main striker was folly.
  5. Playing on a Monday for Sky and then playing on a Thursday in Russia is a farce. Bayern are playing this Friday night before they play Arsenal next week as it seems the German league would like give their own teams the best chance they can to progress in Europe and we get a Monday night game here... If Swansea was next Monday and tonight's game was Saturday that would have been fine, but this is a pisstake.
  6. Rumours via the Twitterati that it is Shelvey to come in for Sturridge. If so it will be interesting to see how we line up, could be anything from Shelvey 'false9ing it', out wide with Suarez up top or have a crazy looking four man midfield made up of four central midfielders. Would have like to see Borini come straight in for Sturridge if that is to be the case, but he has to start on Thursday. PS: We have been royally f***ed over with these fixtures with playing in Russia on Thursday, whoever arranged these should be sacked/
  7. Think he would be at his most useful at the moment coming off the bench as another attacker when we are in need a of a goal. A bit like Hernandez does for the mancs, I think he has got a goal in him, but wouldn't put him in our starting 11 at the moment and wouldn't write him off just yet. I think he is one of those players who will get on the end of things rather actually do anything before it, an Inzaghi type

    Carra

Wow: LEGEND, no better word for him. He is now first choice in our team on merit too and looks like he could carry on even longer, what a player he has been for us.
  9. If he can get that way for us (it must be really hard playing right next to an absolute legend every week) then he will be a real asset for years for us, as long as Barca dont come knocking and that. He pushed Johnson out the way of taking a freekick against City, I don't know why but I really liked it when he did.
  10. The premier league?

    Coutinho

There are no paragraphs in Brazil.
  12. I really hope Roy gets the Man United job when Mr Ferguson retires Uptopia
  13. When he is in form he actually looks like he could go pretty far, but when he stinks he really does f***ing stink
  14. Stop ruining this ridiculously attacking dream with your sensible and reasoned comments
  15. Deffo And the funny thing is he looks nothing like you would think the complete player would look like, he is tiny and looks like a weed
  16. Different players, dodgy pitch, not first choice keeper / defence etc Could work in home games against the 'lesser teams' I reckon, I'm sure it would be a great watch finding out... Real Madrid played something like that last season with Ronaldo, Ozil, Di Maria and Higuin, I'm not saying that we have the same quality players but the system would be very similar... would need Gerrard to hold his position more
  17. It is fantasy football 'we will score more than you' stuff, it is what the manc's have been doing for years and they don't have a Stevie G. It is crazy but I wouldn't fancy lining up against that lot... I'd be s***ting in my pants.
  18. We deffo have an outside chance, but stranger things have happened - like City winning the league after being 8 points down in April last season... We also have the best run in that I can remember, this will mean nothing if we don't win the games but it deffo gives us a chance. Need Spurs (and Everton/Arsenal) to have a bad patch first but will be an interesting finish to the season for sure.
  19. Nice to see some people talking some sense on this page...
  20. Hence why I'm hoping this Brazilian lad gets right in there... Still think Downing has been poor lately, agree about him tactically having an influence in stretching the play... But that's about all he does and don't get people saying he is playing well when he isn't. If he was playing well he'd be offering goal threat as well from the position he plays and just doesn't...
  21. Not sure how anyone can be happy with having Downing in your starting 11 in a front three, not in the long run, not for us
  22. You have him on the back of your shirt don't you?
  23. 'Decent', 'Useful', 'Utility', 'does a job' - i.e not good enough for a starting player for a team who have bigger aspirations of where we are right now. He has scored 1 league goal in 54 games and is playing part of 3-man attack. Not good enough, was never going to be good enough - have peoples expectations of a Liverpool player really dropped that low that it is okay to just okay (or less) now? Mine havent and I think we need so much better than this to move forward, Coutinho would be in for me as soon as he is ready.
  24. Seen on Twitter this morning that someone put "its going to take some effort for Coutinho to replace Downing in the side now" By 'some effort' I can only assume he meant get our of bed and turn up.
  25. They are in for a treat, he is really good at football
