  1. If we can upgrade him in the summer to a top level player then we are away... He is probably on big money in comparison to our newer signings so may well be let go for someone younger, better and cheaper.
  2. They have a midfield two who get over ran s***loads and four players who are ace at scoring/creating and outscore the opposition almost every game, I would like us to do it to them
  3. Do either way for sure.
  4. With Sanchez/Ben Arfa it could potentially look like this: Lucas - Gerrard Sanchez/Ben Arfa - Suarez - Coutinho Sturridge And with Eriksen like this: Lucas - Gerrard Suarez - Eriksen - Coutinho Sturridge
  5. Sanchez is a ridiculous talent and would be my number one for that role, getting him in would obviously be extremely difficult but if we did it would me like a Suarez signing. Eriksen and Ben Arfa are also excellent shouts, it is these types of players we should be all over to really, really push on.
  6. Utd do well cause they have goals - they dont need to dominate games to win and the majority of the time they dont dominate games. They have won titles doing this. We now have Sturridge, Suarez, Gerrard and Coutinho, if we could add someone of that caliber to take Downing's position in the current set up team then I think we could do very, very well next season.
  7. We should make Daniel Sturridge sit in an ice bath the whole time between games and not let him out. The added bonus to this is that he wont be able to influence the younger lads with this hard drugs and loose women.
  8. I think we need a completely boss goalscoring attacking player for a front six of: Lucas - Gerrard completely boss goalscoring attacking - Suarez - Coutinho Sturridge I would also keep Borini and have him come in as a direct replace for Sturridge when need to to bring off the bench as another attacker, he is still very young, has scored goals before and has been injured almost the whole season for us. We are sorted at right back. We could improve at left back, but with Robinson coming back and Enrique we could be worse off. Midfield is a tricky one, but with Texteira coming through we might well be okay here. Could poss use a big presence in certain games but not for every game. Centre back could be the real big change in the summer and you couldnt rule out Reina going... If we can get that completely boss player we'd look excellent going forward - this could be a Cristian Eriksen or an out of favour Alexis Sanchez (dreaming), just someone dead good.
  9. Play football well?
  10. If our little Brazilian magician doesn't play I will be as livid as a cut snake
  11. Wigan like to play footy and are not the bruisers some clubs in this league are, I think if you were to pick an away game for Coutinho to start in and expect to do well in it would be this one. Same team that won our last game 5-0 please boss.
  12. Kenny had a huge transfer spend and longer in charge to get us to where we were last season, Rodgers has had 2/3rds of a season and a fair bit less money so far and got done on deadline dead by our owners who wouldn't cough up £6m or so for Clint Dempsey and who sanctioned spending £35m on a deadline day Andy Carroll for the last manager. I can see us doing pretty well next season, first seasons are always hard, especially with a new way of playing and a new manager trying to put his imprint on the team. If we are in this position next season I will be pissed off for sure, but he needs time, we all knew that when he took over. All needs to be put in context, next season is the time to judge Rodgers more clearly.
  13. I think if we had the squad we have now (Sturridge and Coutinho) at the start of the season we would be right up there challenging for 3rd/4th.
  14. Never know until he plays and not every premier league full back is a tank either. Sterling isnt exactly Jeff Capes and he started almost every league game until recently too.
  15. Hahaha
  16. Well I rate him, doesnt say a lot for the lad but I have thought he has looked good for us when given the chance.
  17. Thought he looked very bright when he came on last night. Skilful, fast, excellent touch and doesn't give the ball away, surprised like everyone he hasn't featured more. I would like to see more of him and think he could be more effective for us than Sterling is right now, he does have six years on him mind!
  18. I think he is better than Beardsley.
  19. Depends if you think he is better than Keegan (and Robbie Keane).
  20. If Shelvey scores that chance it is a great sub too. thought Assaidi was lively when he came on, would like to see more of him.
  21. Luis Suarez - set piece specialist. Think we could be excellent next season if we keep hold of him and watch him do that every week with Sturridge and Coutinho. Only worry is Pep and Bayern for me.
  22. Downing is better when we have more attacking options on the pitch and you are not replying on him to produce something as part of a front three. Like on Sunday when we had Sturridge, Suarez and Coutinho plus Gerrard. Not sure what that says about him though, properly not a good thing. Was alright last night but agree with comments above - why cant he run that fast going forward? And he isn't the standard of player if we want to break top 4 and beyond...
  23. I quite like the way he has got us playing, I quite like the fact we now are a team who can score goals. As long as the results are good and we are looking like a team that could really go places then I'm all good with him.
