  2. Positives for next Tuesday: We know exactly what we have to do whereas Chelsea will vacillate between trying to protect what they have or adding to their lead. and a single-minded team in that cauldron has a such an advantage over a team fluctuating between options. They fall between two stools (which also makes me think of Kuyt between Terry and Carvalho resulting in a penalty and a sending off ) They will bring both Ballack and Essien back and one of those two will probably get sent off. We have Rafa, they don't.
  3. I agree that our strikers are marked out of the game and that is why I think we need to get our wingers to cut into the box. As long as they beat the left or right back, then one of those central defenders, either Carvalho or Terry has to leave his man and come across, thus freeing up one of our strikers. Makelele won't be able to cover a beaten full back as he sits in front of the back four and doesn't drop back that far. If we let their central pair keep their position our strikers will only get the odd knock down to........no-one. Draw them out of position and we can open them up. Surely one of Pennant, Gerrad, Gonzales, Riise, Kewell is capable of beating the full back on the edge of the area where they can't risk a reckless tackle.
  4. One thing I would like to see is our wingers in the return game, be they Pennant or Gerrard on the right and one of Gonzales, Riise or possibly Kewell on the left hugging the edge of the area and trying to run into it. Chelsea won't mind conceding fouls out on the touchline, but they will be far less willing to dive in when we are in the box. Anything trown into the area from the wings they can deal with in the air, but let's try them one on one on the ground where a reckless tackle earns a penalty.
  5. Will they manta man mark him?
  6. I have no doubt that Chelsea will score at Anfield, but that may not be so telling. Just remember the old adage: "It only takes six minutes to score three goals"
  7. We have a current trend whereby you say what will happen on the understanding that it will then no longer happen as it has been predicted. It's called mockering. For example, you claim Zenden is useless and he then ................................ermmm, ok it doesn't always work

    Drogba

Ayala did, but didn't Drogba have to come off as he was carrying a real injury for once.
  9. Lazy git, I can cover 6055m in 51.55 [/s]days..................erm I mean minutes.
  10. He's thinking of his belovbed Athens and trying to keep it in one piece during May.
  11. Ferguson will be happy. He didn't want to concede an away goal and he hasn't, he's conceded two!
  12. So Kaka will be counted as first goal scorer, I assume.
  13. Now Crouch will have to score twice tomorrow night to be joint top scorer.
  14. Milan have had two chances in the last two minutes, but screwed them. Let's hope they take the next one.
  15. Rooney is now counting on his fingers trying to work out if 1-0 is better than 0-0.
  16. For motivation, I would like to see our physio, when needed on the pitch, run on with all his sprays, gloves, bandages etc inside our European Cup.

  19. Jean-Luc Picard?
  20. Is that a motorway or a games console? I get confused.
  21. But you're covered anyway as if anyone scores before Gonzales is on the pitch, you get your money back.
  22. 2005 my brother broke his hip. 2007, a few weeks ago, my uncle broke his hip. The cup's ours.
  23. Extra time would be nice for us.
