The suggestion that he is willing to take a pay cut to join us speaks volumes for his commitment. Now if he would only pack Tevez in his bag before leaving Upton Park I would welcome him with open arms.

If those are true the West Ham game will be postponed I assume because of a CL qualifier.

I wouldn't be surprised to see United enquiring about all these strikers even if they are not really interested/do not have the funds just in order to push the price up for everyone else.

I agree that it would be ideal to get everything done now but I get the impression with Malouda that he is the one stalling because he wants the best financial offer. If that is the case there is nothing we can do. He is hardly going to help us wrap up a quick, clandestine deal. Eto'o and Alves are still involved in their title race and besides, both their clubs would want an auction if they were to sell them. United were probably prepared to pay a premium to get their deals done quickly with selling clubs whose eyes lit up at the fee. £17m is a much bigger deal to a Portuguese club than it is to a top Spanish side. Maybe it's just the nature of our targets that precludes quick deals.

I don't like open-sided stadia.
