According to Gab Marcotti on the radio, Kia Joorabchian is talking to Liverpool, Inter, West Ham and one other club abroad about Tevez and there is a minimum fee of £20m. I know all the stuff about Marcotti knows nothing etc, but I am just passing it on.

Surely Parry has been called because he was chief executive at the Premier Leugue when the rule was introduced so he will be giving evidence in that capacity as a neutral witness. I can't see how Liverpool as a club is involved in any way.

Sean Wheelock, the U.S correspondent on 5live's world football 'phone-in reckons that Hicks and Gillet will spend big this summer. He apparently interviewed Hicks last week.

Seems like a work of genius to me. Offer unrealistic prices for "targets" you don't really want, word gets around that you don't have a lot of money, negotiate directly with the players you do want so that they want to join you e.g Mascherano, then talk to their clubs, tell them you don't have a lot of money (which they now believe) and sign the players at realistic prices as they make it clear to their clubs that they only want to sign for you. That's why Gillet and Hicks are millionaires.

Might give some credence to the rumour going around last week that we were offering a player plus cash for Andy Johnson although the rumoured swap player was Bellamy.

I assume a few Spanish players tomorrow will announce that they are playing their last game for their club so that they can say goodbye to the fans. Eight hundred pages later we may actually sign one of them.
