Tim Vickery on World Football Phone-in on Radio 5 really rates him as one of the best talents in South America. He reckons that he is not a holding midfielder, but an attacking one who will work perfectly with Mascherano. According to Vickery he is the type of player Brazil has needed for many years as as they have a surfeit of holding midfielders but no-one like Lucas who can drive forward. He also has a tremendously powerful shot. Vickery reckons he will spend his first season at Liverpool just settling in before forcing his way into the first team.

I read somewhere recently that UEFA had cancelled some tickets sold by touts for the CL final so beware of buying anything on ebay. Even if the tickets are genuine they well be annulled by UEFA.

I remember something Rafa said at the start of the seaon when we were a little suspect defensively. He said that as we had more width we had lost the stability through the centre, so I wonder if he will go for right and left sided players who can tuck in and condense the play when we don't have the ball. If so it would require a particular style of winger, not one who hugs the touchline, but maybe one who is more a left or right sided midfielder with the ability to track back and defend.

You can't fault Tevez's attitude thus far. He could have tried to bail out of a club fighting relegation, but he stayed and won their player of the year. Ok the competition was non-existent, but he gives everything on the pitch and keeps quiet off it which makes him an ideal Rafa player.

Apparently only their own ones paying them fat salaries for doing nothing.
