  1. This game has got penaties written all over it and has done from the start!! 4-1-4-1 with no-one supporting Shrek probably had something to do with him getting sent off (getting frustrated). Sven is a w***** just for making Neville the Captain after Beckham. There are 2 worthy captains on that pitch ahead of Beckham and Neville in Gerrard and Terry but it proves once again Sven is ruled by Beckham that him and his mate are Captain and Vice-Captain!
  2. Sven really is the biggest con-man in football (allegedly ) £5 million a year and he really hasn't got a clue!!! Crouch should have started - he's outscored Rooney and Owen in this World Cup, he can play the lone striker role and at least he isn't going to loose his cool and stamp on someones nuts!!! And he doesn't make the most of the best midfielder in the World!! Steve Gerrard - instead he keeps polishing Fat Franks ego!!!
  3. Beckham is not injured after he pulled up hobbling, pretending to be injured he than ran round like a mad man and if you are injured you can't round around like that! Maybe England can now actually take some decent free-kicks and corners now he's off the pithch!! What a surise Fat-Frank misses another Chance!!!!!
  4. That's been England's only tactic for all of the World Cup!!! England if they want to win have to make 2 changes. Lampard and Beckham off and it really doesn't matter who he repalces them with as long as one of them is Crouch!
  5. You can tell that most of the people voting on the OS are under 20! No offence to Rafa and what he has done in his 2 seasons at the club (which has been fantastic) but how can he be above Fagan or Dalglish already? GH and Evans above Fagan as well? I agree with the Shankly / Paisley issue! On trophies alone Paisley is above shankly by alot but if you where to ask Paisley he would tell you he couldn't have achieved anywhere near the sucess he did without the foundations that Shankly laid down!
  6. And so say all of us!! Well said Robbie
  7. Fowler Just posting something I heard in work this week and it is 2nd or 3rd hand but Owen's brother works in the same place as me and has told a mate of mine who works with him to get some money on Owen joining United. Don't know how true it is and if Owen's brother is winding everyone up, I do know that he definately said it to my mate and a few of the lads on his department have put some money down on Owen joining the Mancs! My personal view is I don't want Owen back - he screwed us over and took the money and ran twice (IMHO). The team won't be built around him with Rafa like it was with GH and he is injury prone and as somebody said earlier he can go on a run of 5 or 6 games without scoring where he doesn't contribute much else to the team but then will score 9 goals in 3 games. A great LFC Player of the past and a Legend for what he done in the past (even though he soured it a bit) but IMHO that's where Owen should be left and we should move on with other options up-front. If Rafa signs him then I will back it 100% though.
  8. £17 million!! and the contract offer they are talking about offering Stevie in that s**** article (£3.5 million a year!) is less than he's on now!! So according to the top journalist at Tribal Football we are going to accept less than half for Gerrard now after he's signed a new contract than we turned from Chelsea and he's going to leave the club he loves for an ageing team in Italy that have just sold their best player for less money each week! F'in classic journalism, how do these people actually get jobs?
  9. Considering United paid £30 million for Ferdinand and £28 million for Veron, Chelski paid £25 million for Essien and £24 million for Drogba - I wouldn't say that Shevchenko is overpriced at £30 million at all. Ballack was on a free so even given his massive wages he still works out rather cheap!! Andy Johnson I agree is definately overpriced though!
  10. You missed one! Despite being s**** in qualifying and being called the worst German team ever (even though they didn't have to qualify this time) the Germans will suprise everyone and do well!
  11. That is exactly what I was thinking - he clearly and deliberatly denied Eto a goalscoring opportunity! We've got a fully qualified ref in work so If I see him I'll ask him what he thinks!
  12. OK what if a striker is running clear through after rounding the keeper, a defender cynically hacks him down (like lehman did) and another striker sticks it in - is that still not a red-card offence for the cynical foul and denying a clear goalscoring opportunity for the original striker?
  13. Where in the rules of the game is "spirit" mentioned? Why should it matter if it's a champions league final or a div 3 mid-table match? The rules are the rules and the ref could have sent Lehman off for a proffessional foul and allowed the goal to stand! What if it had been 2-2 and a Barca player had gone straight through and Arsenal player (i.e. red card offence) should the ref have thought "Well in the spirit of the game and it's such a great game I won't send him off because it will ruin the game, Ill just give him a yellow?" No it's a red-card offence simple. But he denied Eto a clear goalsoring opportunity - so it's still a red card offence- It was also a proffesional foul as he made sure that Eto didn't get past him by hauling him down with his arm! Even one of the biggest whingers in the game (Wenger) has said Lehman should have been sent off and the ref had no choice with that decision! We really need a qualified ref to call it exactly!
  14. I don't agree though! What if a defender makes a "red-card" challenge (dangerous or proffesional foul) the ref let's advantage go and the opposition score - should the ref then only book the defender beacuse the opposition scored? No he should be sent off just as Lehman should have - I think the fact it was a keeper commiting a proffesional foul and sending off offence that is clouding people's judgements.
  15. How do you download the montage's from youtube? I only seem to be able to watch them - there doesn't seem to be a download function.
  16. I can't really see how he's been one of their best players when he's only started 16 games for them and played in 32 total (coming off the bench in 16 games), if he's struggling to get into a very, very poor sunderland side I can't see much hope of us getting much for him!

  18. B- for me! He has given us something different and his touch and hold-up play can be brilliant, but it's his lack of a finishers instinct that let's him down. I've lost count of the times I've said "Oh Nearly" or "So Close" when it comes to crouch scoring or getting on the end of chances and it's just the lack of a natural instinct that all great strikers have of being in the right place at the right time (i.e. Owen, Rush, Fowler, Rooney, Shearer, Henry, RVN etc...) that he lacks and it's something you can't teach (Nearly Crouch most times)! His heading at times can be poor especially for someone who has the height advantage he does, get's in good heading positions but often his heading is poor. Having said that, he has put in some great performances this season and his best IMHO was against the Blues**** at Anfield after Gerrard got sent off and IMHO without Crouch we wouldn't have won the game, he has definately helped in our improved league position, but for me he is a good squad player and not a main striker / starting 11 player every week.
  19. Is this list available online anywhere?
  20. He probably had a big bonus in that as well after we won the Champo's League and he's on less than scudamore who is in Parry's old job at the Premier League!
  21. Sorry but the first header he was clear with no-one on him and definately not streching, regardless of if anyone else would have got in that position, he was in a great position and he fluffed it - he put it straight at the keeper when 6" either side would have been a clear goal. His 2nd headed effort wasn't much better! I'm not in any way saying Crouch isn't a good player for us as he's been great this season but if it was Shearer who'd had those 2 headed chances it would have been at least 1 goal if not 2!!!
  22. Crouch had one of his poorest games and those 2 headers he put straight at the keeper where shocking - 6" either side and both of them where a goal and he was totally unmarked!!! saying that recently he has been great but today he was poor! Thought he was very slow as well for a very good through ball by Robbie!! Cisse really has got to learn how to beat a man without hitting the ball 40 yards in-front of him and then trying to beat his man for pace!! Folwer - Didn't do alot except what he does best - Stick the ball in the back of the net!! If he is on reduced terms we've got to make every effort to keep him -ok he isn't as fit as most but you would pay a fortune usually for his finishing ability!!
  23. Personally I can't see the point in the poll. Garcia has only been used as a striker a couple of times but he is mostly used on the right and Fowler is a striker! Shouldn't it be Fowler, Nando or Cisse? Next Poll who shall we keep next Season - Agger or Kewell
