You could argue that Mancs decline started when Ferguson finally got the go ahead to spend big after years of bitching. His first major money signing was Veron, who flopped, and really only horseface could be looked at as a success. It's easy to spend big on players but the success rate is as hit and miss as buying players for less money.

I heard the team on the radio at lunchtime. When I heard Kelly was playing i just presumed Finnan was left back. I thought it was odd, but he would be a far better option there than Kilbane.
