Brannigan. Our new Oirish full back ?
  4. He's played at the world cup before then has he ? and don't give me the champions league argument.
  5. If Reina is number 2 then he should start. Aragones shouldn't be so short sighted as to treat this game like a practice match. Reina may be needed further on in the competition and this match would have been ideal to give him some experience at this level. It's got nothing to do with the fact he is a Liverpool player. But I suppose it's better to give Canizares a game as a "gesture".
  6. b******s to that. Reina is by far the better keeper and should be pushing Casillas for the no.1 jersey. What happens if Casillas gets injured in the next game. Will Aragones still bring Canizares on then ? There should be no room for sentiment in football especially at the world cup.
  7. It's a joke that Canizares starts ahead of Reina.
  8. He won me ?170 last night so I f***ing love the man

Does the old rule about non EU players still exist ? If so we might have trouble keeping all the South Americans happy. Or do some of them have EU passports ?

  16. Daily Post saying he will sign today Bellamy in Anfield move talks Jun 21 2006 By Nick Smith Daily Post Staff CRAIG Bellamy is set to fly back to England complete his move to Liverpool today. The Welsh striker will cut short his holiday in Greece after Blackburn Rovers gave him permission to talk to Rafael Benitez. The clubs have agreed on a fee in the region of £6-6.5million for the player, who had a release clause in his Rovers contract that allowed him to leave if a Champions League club matched his valuation. Blackburn's last-ditch attempts to persuade Bellamy to stay and make him their highest ever paid player are set to fail as he homes in on a move to the club he supports. Story continues ADVERTISEMENT This passion for a switch to Anfield means Benitez's meeting to establish Bellamy's desire to play for the club should be a formality and the transfer should go ahead in the next 24 hours. "We have an agreement which allows us to talk to the player," Benitez said. "I know the player's qualities very well. He is a very good footballer and now we need to see if he has the passion to play for our club. "I don't think this will be a problem because he is a Liverpool fan, so I think it will be easy for him."
  17. I can never remember Liverpool being "skint". We have consistently spent money on players down through the years and have broken the British transfer record on a couple of occasions. The perception that we have no money has only come about since Abramovich came on the scene. Off the top of my head we spent at least £25m last season and £35m the previous year. Not the kind of money that suggests we are broke.
  18. Sounds very promising. It would be nice to get a major deal like this done quickly.
  19. I read an interview with him in the Sunday times a couple of weeks back. Seems like he was really struggling for money a couple of years back. Hard to blame him for trying to make a few bob.
  20. KEWELL CLEARED TO PLAY AGAINST CROATIA Paul Rogers 20 June 2006 Liverpool midfielder Harry Kewell has been cleared by FIFA over his post-match tirade against a referee and will be free to play in Australia's crucial World Cup Group F match against Croatia on Thursday. Offal
  21. As was I. Should have added a at the end of my post.
