He took a season to bed in properly at Villa according to my mate who wishes they still had him. Thing is, we wanted someone to hit the floor running and will the club have the patience to give him next season too?

It is strange, because in those Youtube comps of him in games his control was pretty much spot on, wether it was with his chest, head or feet. I know he is a proffesional etc, but I think playing for his home town club that he has supported since he was a boy was a lot to do with his performances at Newcastle. Rather like our own Steven Gerrard, he would have been good if he went to Chelsea, but not as good as he has been for us. O.K., I accept Gerrard may not have been as bad at Chelsea as Carroll has appeared for us, but I still think it is a valid point, AND, I really hope Carroll turns it around and gets that form back. I would love it for him to come good for us in the style he was at Newcastle.
