Whilst I agree with your posts here Dus, it is the 'reported decently' that you know wouldn't happen, it would turn into a witch hunt blaming the "slapper for what she did to poor Gary Speed and those poor boys" which wouldn't help anyone at all. Its a difficult one because of the high level interest case that this is and yes, reasoning about the suicide is important but I don't think it has been swept under the carpet in this instance. If anything this case has brought it to the afore as he was such a succesful and well liked man and yet possibly found this to be his only release. They had marital problems, they argued, possibly under the influence of drink, there was a suicide, accidental or premeditated, is what we know, What we the public don't need to know in depth is of any possible infidelities, or things said in anger that may have led to this sad conclusion, that can't be taken back, or apologised for and will have to be lived with foever.

Yeah, I read what Shearer said when it came out and I think it is quite obvious what he may have been alluring too. I am not purely having a go at you or anything, it is in a private(ish) forum etc. It's just that I feel personally that even though this is not gossip or rumour, it should be left. No one will benefit from this but the papers or magazines and its from them publishing this stuff that rumours, stories and gossip do form and become fact or folk lore no matter how untrue. That's stuff that will hang around those boys for ever. Like I said, I don't mean to have a pop at you, but from personal experience, things like this are tough enough as they are, without them being thrust into the public domain.

Fair enough Flight, Adults/Parents do what they like, but, do the children really need all this dragging through the press for everybody to know about, for everyone in the media and in the street to suddenly start having their opinion and say about their mother, their only remaining parent, on top of what they have already gone through with regards to losing their father in the manner that they have? Or do they require some love, support and protection from such a vile intrusion on their lives at this moment in time? If your mate knows something and is thinking of going to the press or what ever, I hope you have a word, seriously, it's the last thing those kids need right now. They need stability, not to have the remaining foundations taken away from them as well.

I hope for the kids sake nothing of the sort does! It's private and f*** all to do with anyone else.
