aye but say I buy the box with a card slot and then subscribe to Setanta - will I get the sports package or will I be able to get LFC TV? It the LFC bit I'm interested in. If I can't then I wont bother buying anything and just stick with the freeview channels I currently get off the aerial. edit - sorry youre response didnt make clear if the LFC channel was an option with the circumstances I mentioned or whether such a choice would get me just the "some of the top action on Setanta Sports 1, including LFC TV branded Champions League and Premier League matches" rather then the dedicated LFC TV channel

depends on who are our attacking four - wingers and strikers - are . I wouldnt be suprised if another winger was brought in, assuming Babel will play on the left then the chance to play someone like Simao on the right would be an improvement over Pennant - tho I think he's improved hugely in the last 6 months of the season just gone. Having said that Babel as a right footer can play on the right wing too - obviously. I think a lineup with Kewell and Pennant will flatter to deceive and wont make us real challengers. Sorry, but Kewells been here for 4 years and hasnt nailed the left wing slot as his own for any length of time. Injuries or whatever I dont think he can be viewed as our left wing player 'for the season' Assuming that Babel playes left, then I think, or I would like to think, that a player like Simao would be brought in to play on the right wing, with Pennant as backup or to rotate as and when. That kind of lineup, if fit for the season, would make a hell of a difference as opposed to playing with Kewell and Pennant as our wingers.

actually this is something old ginsoak did back around 90 or 91 at the mancs - Basically signed about 5 or 6 club captains and had them all playing in the 1st 11. The benefits of leadership and having players who wont hide is self evident. A player doesnt get to be captain unless he is one of the best players on the pitch - so the thinking was the more of such players the better. Cant see too many issues about this being added to our starting/best 11. Reina is already a leader type in that he commands his area and his defence. So if we have a player of captain like material in goal (Reina), defence (Carra, poss. Sami), midfield (Gerrard, Masch shows signs of leadership too in his overall play) and forward (Torres) we have a leadership edge to the spine of the team. The more captain types we have the better in my opinion!

ditch friendlies - have training camps instead - lessens the possibility of injuries. Have these camps during the existing international dates. stage competittive games at the end of the season maybe over a 3 week period so that any slight injuries (muscle strains etc) can be sorted before the league starts. Serious injuries cant be helped by this I admit. Failing that, ignore the above and compact the league season (drop the league cup, fa cup replays) and extend the time frame for competitive internationsal at seasons end - say start at the start of May.

I take it you need a set top freeview box to get the setanta sports pack via freeview? I have a freeview reciever built into a lcd tv but dont know if that can be used to subscribe as it mentions something about a '14 digit number associated with the set top box' Bugger - more outlay then, altho the boxes seem cheap enough. The delayed coverage of ALL our games makes it a goer for me, plus the occassional actual live game, and the golf.... Doubt it will get any cheaper Paisley as the £10 a month seems a special offer from the £15 a month normal price altho their website has something about getting the first 3 months for a tenner or something - go to their page to see £10 for 3 months - top right

Three years ago (pre manc) yes, now no. The injury has taken its toll and I think he's a squad player for any of the top 6 sides rather than a starter at LB. And thats before considering he's a manc - ignore my previous 'manc' comment! I'd rather see a young 20 yo LB brought in, given a year (Insua) and take it from there. Not sign a past it hasbeen manc t***. Thanks but no thanks. Of course maybe Rafa is just f***ing with the mancs head, in which case, on you go Rafa!

I think we need a dedicated LW and RW and then used SG in his best position - advanced in midfield. He may be more than capable on the right wing but if we had the wingers I think we could get so much more out of SG by playing him in this advanced midfield role - bursting forward into the box, supporting the front two (or one in some games). He's got a great stike on him and tons of energy and while he does a job on the wing (does it well mind you) I'd prefer to see him more central. For this reason I cant agree with a preferred formation that puts him RW.

Bought by a departing manager and he didnt suit the new managers style of play. If Rafa didnt want or rate him then I think he could have stopped the transfer (if such a thing was possible) but that all by the by now. As has been said before, he may well have thrived under a counter attacking style sytem like Ged used but Rafas style is more team ethic, possession based, controlling the ball and Cisse was never the player for that. Perhaps if Rafa had the funds he has now Cisse would never have got a look in in 2005-2006. Anyway he's off. No ill will to the guy, he scored some important goals and some goals against so called 'weaker opposition' but we have to score against those f*****s too. All the best in Marseille and thanks for the goal v WHU and the peno v Milan. Two great cup wins in recent years and great memories to go with them. Onwards and upwards for LFC and for Cisse.
