Just to put a different point of view to the above, I'm looking to take my young lad to his first Liverpool game sometime before Christmas. I'm not stupid enough to decide it has to be against Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, Everton, Man u or even Wigan, I'm just looking for an easy game to get tickets to. Ideally the 3rd round home game in the League Cup would be the ideal choice against lower oppo so he can see a few goals, enjoy the game etc. Failing a home draw there I'd hope for a similar draw in the 3rd Rnd of the FA Cup. Obviously this type of game wouldnt be one to get the pulses racing in the local fans or indeed the overseas fans and so tickets may be a little easier to come by. For me, a 3 hour train ride away, its one I can make just taking 1 day off work and also its one where I'm likely to swear a little less!. I dont have a fancard so would be going thru the old fashioned way of ringing up etc etc. I appreciate what you say about people wanting to cherry pick games and see Liverpool v the top 4/5 teams in the league I'm certain it happens a lot but there are those of us out there who are happy with and indeed actively seeking tickets to a home game in the league cup against the likes of Rochdale for example! Anyway here's hoping for a home banker in the League cup in a couple of months. No jester hats included I promise!

thats the only game until Everton that isnt a 'we must take 3 points from' type of game. Up until Everton (Pompey) aside 3 points from every game is a must considering who we are playing. Pompey away is a tough one though...

Think Alonso will be a definite starter v Derby not having played tonight. Question is do we really need a holding midfielder like Sissoko against them? Momo played tonight as did Masch, given the game time each has got so far I'd reckon it will be Alonso and Masch at the weekend. Cant see any reason whatsoever to rush SG back for this one I'd use Lucas as a sub after 55 or 60 minutes if the result is going our way. Be intersting to see if Arberloa/Yossi start on the right or if it will be Finnan/Pennant. I think it may be Arberloa and Yossi given their attacking threat tonight. If Finnan starts at left back its surely a definite sign that Riises days are numbered?

I thought our right side played fantastically The left however never got going at all. Leto didnt see much of the ball but its a bit much to expect him to have a stormer in his first competitive game. Thought he got no help from Riise who turned inside every time. I havent been one to criticise Riise previously but he annoyed the f*** out of me tonight by refusing to pass the damn ball to Leto time and again.

Just signed up for the e-season ticket, f*** me there is some good stuff in there. Signed up primarilry to see the extended 40 minutes highlights but theres a mountain of stuff in there to bring the memories flooding back - absolutely fantastic! that Dalglish clip on the 100 days is brilliant.
