I think the issue is that some believe that he might have achieved a level of fluency that suggests he has been practicing since long before he claimed he made up his mind... Although I was thinking today that you don't need to have been at it for too long to be able to read a prepared statement

You want to ban the sun? Agree about the cannons. I'd also ban muskets and colt revolvers. And actually, Gatling guns can f*** off as well -

Too late to edit but I just had a look at that Ian St John autobiography and it was "Billy" they called him, not Bill, as reflected in that "Red or Dead" passage takanohana just posted above. He might have signed it "Willie" because it was what the public called him. Also, that St John autobiography is a bloody good book everyone should read. The old pros had much better stories than the guys who were around during the later, more professional era

I don't know a f***ing thing about Ekitike but this channel has done an extended breakdown of his game. He's summarised it in the end with a write up that says this: Strengths Ball carrying Electric footwork Competes in the air Trivela passes (he provides a bunch of examples of him doing this well in the video) Vision (for a number 9) Suits any defence Defensive work rate - he seems to be particularly good at this Weaknesses Awkward ball striking Inconsistent in front of goal Can overdo it dribbling-wise Unproven (barely any minutes)

He has died at the age of 85. Shanks brought him in from Rangers for £20,000 at the age of 22 after he lost his place in the Rangers side to the great Jim Baxter. A left-half, he was one of the mainstays of the Shankly era, missing only 9 games in his first four full seasons. His medal collection at Liverpool included first division titles in 63-64 and 65-66 and he was also part of the famous FA Cup win in 64-65. From what I remember of Ian St Johns's autobiography, he was one of the bachelors in the team with more disposable income than the guys who had families, and he became known for his beautifully tailored suits. He also said that he was known within the club as Bill Stevenson but for some reason the name "Willie Stevenson" took off externally. According to Wiki, the arrival of a 19 year old Emlyn Hughes saw him replaced in the team in 67-68 and he was moved on to Stoke City at the end of the season. He also played for Tranmere Rovers, Vancouver Whitecaps, Limerick and Macclesfield Town

No, but I did amuse myself with the idea that by "waterworks" he means he keeps pissing himself at the wedding -

Yeah I think so. Few good signings to fill in our areas of deficiency and we're going to be in for a monster season -

I don't know about this but I wish they'd put someone else on it. Enough with this s***. There's a whole celebration going on and all we're looking at is Trent -

Yeah Iet's normalise calling him his old name til he feels pressured to change his current awful name. Admittedly, some might think I'm in no position to pass judgement on people's name choices

I think it's possible Sami had a bit to say and it got edited out, although Gerrard was certainly butting in a lot -

Saw this before and it was a weird watch. Both Rafa and Sami are relaxed and jovial while Gerrard seems to be wound completely tight and struggling to show any warmth towards Rafa even while he's trying to acknowledge his qualities -
