  1. Elishas comment that harry will play more than gonzo assuming fitness is being taken inthis and other threads as gospel. I took it as opinion. I appreciate elisha seems to be the best informed, but even if he's been told harry remains numero uno, in football like in life things change. Rafa will pick more often the guys who are producing. That may be harry, it may not be. Rafa gave djimi a big contract then got cold feet. If though we needed 5m for kuyt, and spurs offered 5m for harry, I think it would be au revoior time
  2. that's harsh. he's also got the ability to do overhead clearances off the brow of the onrushing striker having misjudged the bounce of the ball and caused several heart-attacks.
  3. that sounds pretty kewell. or not

  5. that means failed a medical. it's not something we would look to publicise. similarly years ago we were about to sign marc vivien foe and it fell through, and so gh signed hamann, but happy hammers and us were careful not to say failed medical as it could impact on marketability
  6. do you think is he one of the 2 referred to by rafa ie wot no kuyt
  7. Rafa = libero?
  8. Fits in with Rafa being quoted in The Times as hoping to make 1 or 2 signings this week
  9. Bizarre things, the rags. The quotes above seem totally convincing. But The Times today says he sounded unconvincing. Their quote is different in all the key places- "At the moment I'm confident I'm going to be here so I don't have reason to think anything else. It's alwaus interestin [to be linked with the big clubs in Spain] and you can feel proud that you could join, but, in fact, I'm not sure if [the talk] is real because I'm thinking about Liverpool. I've not heard anything at the moment." I'm going to believe the earlier quote!
  10. from a financial perspective, its gotta be djimi traore as I think a year ago he signed a 4 year contract which his agent says are on good terms, whereas salif has only got a year left. from a footballing perspective, there's quite literally (as smashy and nicey would say) nothing to choose from.
  11. as someone said above, he seems like a strange one (or they may have used words to the same effect). it's clear his client, kuyt, wants to move to england. or spain alternatively. the standard fare from agents at this stage is to put pressure on the selling club, ie there are some big teams out there, would be his dream to play at a higher level, can't blame him for being ambitious, has been good servant, hopefully a deal can be struck, concerned that selling club are requesting an unrealistic price, this has to be resolved. instead, this guy is saying the buying clubs have to pay the money, or he'll stay. but, mr jansenn, your client wants to go, and wants you to sort the move out, does that really help?!
  12. maybe not so frantastic after all. wenger has an amazing record in snaffling the young talent....
  13. so that's a vote in the 10. king kenny category then dodgy?
  14. was hoping someone would come to my aid and sor' i' aaaaht. used to be able to do them. my view is brucie got involved in things he should have kept well out of but did not change his level of performance so it's just about ok, and so he remains a ledge as for lawro, well if we're talking punditry, he and jockey have gone in opposite directions, and i think lawro's not bad now, not got the knives-out-making-a-name-for-myself approach any more
  15. 1. no fond memories now 2. tarnished hero but better than paul stewart 3. it still hurts 4. difficult to forget the good days 5. yes and no 6. sammy lee level 7. ray kennedy level 8. jocky/lawro level 9. rushie level 10. up there with king kenny b*gger, c0cked this up and cant amend!
  16. for one day, the gloom must be brushed away! in the space of less than 48 hours, we have completed the signings of aurelio, paletta and gonzalez (all but) this is seriously strengthening our squad and at prices which allow some even more serious business to be completed. sometimes you have to say parry rocks!
  17. gr8 but unfortunately i reckon the greeks will sort it out in time

  19. bellers, bellend who cares. you'll get into da lingo once he's making that net bulge!
  20. when we are expecting to find out about gonzalez's wp application? or his spanish passport application. getting very impatient. just would love to be certain now that we'll see gonzalez, aurelio, alves in addition to bellers. and kuyt too of course if i'm being greedy.
  21. its like jon obi mikkel. but we'll get f*** all
  22. wonder if rafa does that thing ged used to do and buys a mate from the same country to make him feel at home. savage? hartson? [cue stevie h]
  23. maybe it was a falkirk v livingston report and i remembered the wrong team didnt we sign alan irvine or someone from falkirk?
  24. fair dos - judging by the notoriety of at least one of the punters on that forum!
  25. so the o' fish are setting up a page for bellers?
