  1. I was under the impression we (including Gray) were simply referring to the lineup for the last part of the game when it was apparent that our strikers weren't having much joy and Gerrard seemed ineffective on the right. In other words instead of bringing Hamann on, why not make some kind of change that meant that Gerrard could play through the middle? We could be here all day discussing who plays on the left if Kewell shifts to the right, Cisse plays too far forward, etc...etc...etc... I agree the starting line up should have been as it was. The point is, by the time of the latter stages of the game Rafa did know Pires and Ljungbeg were not having their best game, and he had several options to get Stevie down the middle, but chose to send Hamann on, and leave Stevie out right. As it turns out, bringing Hamann on was yet another masterstroke by Rafa, but at the time none of us knew that and all I'm actually trying to say that Gray's point about why not try Stevie down the middle wasn't completely insane, surely? Hindsight's great though, and Gray's a c*ck, so let's never play Stevie down the middle ever again eh? Can't have Andy Gray being right, can we?
  2. Kewell often plays on both sides, unless my eyes deceive me. Finnan has also played right mid for us several times. Garcia is so injured he played and scored last night (remember we're talking about the final stages of last night's game for trying Gerrard in the middle for a bit, let's not open this up to 'every game'), Kromkamp obviously cannot be played as he is new , and Cisse never plays on the right for us. But let's not let facts or my sentence (which you even quoted) "Maybe they're not World Class out there, but maybe they could at least hold the fort a bit while we tried Gerrard down the middle" get in the way of a good argument, or the admission that Andy Gray might have had a valid point (for once) eh?

  4. No. Read my post again. Its all opinion of course but I would have said Gerrard is our hardest working midfielder. I know, let's bench Gerrard for the next game, clearly Alonso and Momo are better than him anyway.

    What a grade A c*ck.
  22. Yep, for me, Finnan, Carragher, and Kewell can walk tall. The rest were, well, so so. We missed SG.
