Is correct – most of the “experts” don’t have a clue about it. And if there weren’t 25,000 didn’t that make the ones that traveled more vunerable to attack from the Italians? There wasn’t; a problem between the clubs. To point the finger of purely at Liverpool fans, without defining the context of the meeting (such as the inadequacy of the stadium, policing etc) isn’t an injustice to LFC fans. Not saying that we are pure as the driven snow but there were a lot of factors that came into play on the day and before the final (such as the selection of that stadium) that are never given the same kind of air time that “Liverpool fans have a history” does. UEFA, the police, Governments, the FA and the owners and directors of football clubs didn’t give a flying f*** for the safety of the fans in the 80’s. that they get off scott free for the deaths and injuries caused at football stadiums in the 80’s while the fans take the brunt of the blame is scandalous. Not that any of it will bring the 39 people who died that day back. RIP.

If that was the case then why wasn't there any problems when Juve played Liverpool in the Super cup in January 1985? That never gets mentioned because it doesn;t fit well in the neat little theories about why Heysel happened.
