The draw is tomorrow, which has come round quick.

Who we looking forward to drawing out of the hat?

Newcastle nailed on, Real Madrid too. Don't mind who else, we'll beat em all...

Can't face English teams

Won't face scottish teams

1 in 3 chances of facing Real, so probably likely to happen

That may change - with 6 English and 5 Spanish teams in the draw they may have to remove country protection (at a guess for the two bonus teams - Newcastle and Villareal) to be able to do the draw properly. Would expect a clarification on that in a few days time - or maybe UEFA will just f***ing make it up as they go along 🙂

Pots are (from https://kassiesa.net/uefa/seedcl2025.html) - teams we can't draw in italics

Minimise travel, avoid 'bigger' teams in and around any tougher fixtures in the league. Apart from that I'm really not bothered. You have to be really s*** to not get out of this stupid league format so I hope we learnt from last year and leave more energy in the tank for when it gets important.

Fixtures either side of the games. Week 1 games may be on Tuesday-Thursday, all others Tuesday & Wednesday

Week: opponents before / game after

  • 1 : Burnley (A) / Everton (H)
  • 2: Palace (A) / Chelsea (A)
  • 3: United (H) / Brentford (A)
  • 4: Villa (H) / City (A)
  • 5: Forest (H) / West Ham (A)
  • 6: Leeds (A) / Brighton (H)
  • 7: Burnley (H) / Bournemouth (A) - may be without Mo for AFCON
  • 8: Bournemouth (A) / Newcastle (H)

So Week 2 & 4 are the ones where we could really do with a Pot 3 or 4 team at home. Be interesting to see who we end up with vs City in Week 4 'cos that may have a huge effect on the game that weekend

Small correction after last night's games Qarabag (another potential b*****d of an away) replace Ferencváros in Pot 4

Great example of looking at data and ignoring the real world.

Their "best possible draw" involves three potentially really s***e aways. No-one wants to be drawing Qarabag, Almaty or really even the Turkish/Greek/Cypriot teams either. Imagine having to go to Kazakhstan on the Wednesday and then come back and play City or Chelsea at the weekend.

The draw is live on Amazon Prime for those that have it.

Unconfirmed rumours that Bella Emberg is doing a burlesque turn.  Live Music from Trio and Johnny Hates Jazz.
In between the football chat of course.
