Cam Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 (edited) Just now. Not Rafa.... Di Matteo until the end-of-the-season. Is 4th back on for us?! The appointment is odd. Is Di Matteo really any better than Villas Boas? Even Hodgson at WBA is showing he's better than Di Matteo. Edited March 4, 2012 by Cam
Rimbeux Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Dont see why this has bearing on our hit for 4th, it's Arsenal we have to catch. This if anything might get their players off their a*** for the rest of the season.
RedHarvest Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 "Senior players" get their wish. Not too happy about this, was hoping they'd limp on with AVB til summer, now watch the inevitable short term new manager upturn in form
Epic Swindle Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Can't keep chopping and changing managers and expect stability in league position.
redjersey Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 How much have they spent on hiring and firing managers since 2004? Joke of a club.
Epic Swindle Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Should just make Lion heart Terry manager. Lampard will be the first name on the team sheet now, nailed on.
DonRafa Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Damn! Was hoping he'd stay on til end of season, give us a better chance of fourth. Cannot say I'll miss him, strange little bugger with his squat and tight, tight mac.

If you can't win over the big personalities you're f***ed.
Cooldude Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Chelsea's starting to become a very unattractive destination for top managers
Cam Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 I actually really like Villas Boas as a manager. Smug fecker, yes. But he'd have been a really good appointment if he'd been allowed to get rid of the likes of Terry & Lampard. Sounds like Mourinho in the summer then. I can see the scenes at Real now... wins the title, finally wins the fans over, they're left in tears as he departs from the centre-circle in a helicopter. Mourinho is a great manager but won't be able to repeat his magic with an aging Terry, Lampard, Drogba etc. And give their plastic fans 3 months of dull football before they're moaning about him. They all hated him in that final season but the passing of time has given them all rose-tinted glasses. **** off Torres.

Cam Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 Could Abramovich hijack the England move for Redknapp?
Crazy Horse Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 They've sacked the wrong 30-something here. What a joke of a club.
Cooldude Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 A scenario is that they planned to sack him last week, but Rafa didn't want the job, so he lasted another week before getting sacked now

Rimbeux Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Could Abramovich hijack the England move for Redknapp? There is that. Mourinho back to Chelsea seems like a nice story for the press, but the reality just looks different to my guess. There is the possibility he can take Lampard, Terry and Drogba into their mid 30s a la Ferguson and Scholes/Giggs, but they still need a midfield rethink.
floyd Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 They've sacked the wrong 30-something here. What a joke of a club.Nail firmly hit on the head there. Player power at that club has never been more prevelant in all my 44 years watching footy. Ever since the ddodgy Russian flew in to get some personel insurance cover and launder swathes of cash, they have been the poster boys for the reason why football is shyte to us old uns
CarraLegend Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 They've sacked the wrong 30-something here. What a joke of a club. He was s***, the joke was sacking Ancelotti.
floyd Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 In other news, what the f*** has happened to Ray Parlous hair
lfc003 Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 A scenario is that they planned to sack him last week, but Rafa didn't want the job, so he lasted another week before getting sacked now Or they didn't want Rafa anyway?
