Thought I'd take the opportunity to jump on this first.

Was a decent game in all that. We definitely deserved to win it.

It could have been 4-0 at half time and Brighton wouldn't have had any complaints. They looked pretty over-awed about things in general but I think the chance just before half time (when Kelly cleared really well) probably set them up for a half time gee-ing up by Poyet and they were much better 2nd half.

That said there weren't many times when it looked like they were going to score.

As for us, Bellamy did well, Suarez was willing but it wasn't quite coming off for him. Maxi seemed to fade in and out of the game over the 90 minutes. Most of our best stuff seemed to be coming down whichever flank he wasn't on. That said he did well to set up Kuyt, although it looked a bit like he'd gotten caught in two minds and suddenly realised he didn't have the pace to run clear of the defence himself.

We weren't the most creative in midfield and Spearing was a bit hit and miss at times but we weren't getting overrun massively.

Great to see Gerrard back and he looked to be in decent shape (abysmal control for that throw in he conceded apart) and the Brighton fans seemed to be applauding him when he was warming up.

The away fans were in pretty good voice throughout and it's a nice stadium Brighton have gotten themselves now. I've been watching them build it for ages from the University so it was nice to get inside it. Brighton should beat Leeds as well, who were f***ing rubbish against United.

All in all a decent result. We should have been out of sight at half time and they put us under pressure in the 2nd half but we stood up to it and got the 2nd goal. We go through, Brighton didn't disgrace themselves and it means I don't have to move house to avoid mocking and abuse.

Win - win.

Plus it was the first Liverpool game I'd been able to get to since New Year's Eve 2005 when we played WBA. So cheers to Paul B for the tickets.

Just back myself - what a bitch of a place to get in/out of!! Ended up parking up the hill away from the ground and trekking cross country to the stadium.

Slight disappointment we coasted through the 2nd half but we outclassed them totally in the 1st. Should really have been 2 or 3 up.

Nice stadium, but in the middle of absolutely nowhere.

Made worse by the fact that nobody at Falmer station was telling anybody to move down inside the carriages (ala London Underground) meaning that what few trains there were, were leaving literally half-empty.

Not sure if they normally get that many at a game, but it's something they'd have to work on if they get promoted.

Decent game to watch, got a bit tense at the end.

Thought Coates played ok (dodgy pass aside), Robinson looked a little shaky and whatever they did well generally came down that side. I'm sure he'll learn a lot from it though.

Gerrard looks ready to go,didn't look to have lost any of that pace. Bench on Saturday please Kenny. Lost count of the number of tackles Lucas won. Only problem with Lucas is that I still feel he doesn't stamp his authority over the game and take over the midfield, but maybe he's not that type of player.

I think that's our main problem at the moment.

Was a decent stadium there and was quite nice to go back to Falmer as I havent been there since I left Uni.

I didnt think it was that bad getting out. Ive been in a lot worse situations. Straight back to Brighton for a few beers before catching the last train home.

Did anyone see what the commotion was in the lower West Stand after Derek's goal? (would have been over to your left if you were in the Away end. I was in the upper stand and couldn't see - did they catch a hidden Liverpool Fan in the away end and lynch him or summat?

The hoolies around me began frothing at the mouths and 'wanted a piece' (NOTE: The hoolies that sit near me spend the entire match doing the 'w*nk*r gesture to the away fans - regardless of which team it is - they don't watch the football at all - BUT they would wet themselves if actually confronted by an opposing fan).

I really enjoyed myself, it certainly was a game of two halves Brian, Favourite moment was Bellamy's free kick.

Did you have them off and that?

Not sure if its the same incident, but my friend was in the lower west stand. She told me this fella ran onto the pitch at the end of the game and that he had been creating some problems amongst the Brighton fans. He had a go at my friend at half time in the queue for a beer. Hard man having a go at a woman.

He was a Brighton fan as well.

A bloke ran onto the pitch about halfway through the second half from the lower west stand. He just looked like a nutter.

If the commotion below me was a woman then it explains why the hoolie kids around me weren't afraid to have a go (they actually made a dash for the exit shouting about where are they? where are they? we'll have them.

I just laugh at them. I have to sit next to these muppets every bloody game.

This confused me at the time, but she said it happened twice

I saw the first guy that you mentioned but not the second that she mentioned

Nah, one lad ran on from the far end of the West stand in the second half and one got flattened by the stewards as he climbed over the barrier. Then a little lad about 8 or 9 and some other berk ran on at the final whistle. Not sure what was going on in the crowd though.

This is who she was talking about. Thats the guy (and his lad) who had a pop at her at half time and was being a bellend

The guy who ran on after the kid was giving mouthfuls to one of the stewards as well. Obviously fancied himself as a bit of a hardcase. I'm sure that once he was out of the public eye, the stewards showed him how tough he wasn't.
