The mancs are down 10% because of the glaziers and a boycott. Plus, Torres has gone so you can expect ours to take a dip next year. Plus the rubber necked f***** who was managing us. f*** off purslow

Still impressive though

So if these results were to continue - would it mean we could spend more in the transfer market under the new rules regarding transfers?

nope - those figures are for retail revenue, we still get canned in terms of matchday revenue, the top performance on the retail side allows us to keep pace with the others. The fair play rules will look at total revenue income rather than just that from the retail side, which makes a new stadium.expansion a must in the longer term.

Think we've always known that it's the match day revenue where we're lacking. You'd think with that in mind we'd have built a new stadium during the past 10/15 years.

Telling graph from The Economist recently. We definitely lag behind on match days. Interestingly though Chelsea does much better than us on match day revenues but I bet most people here does not want higher ticket prices. Granted a new stadium will hike those revenues up, but will keeping ticket prices relatively low perhaps help keeping 'commercial' revenue up?

Loads of our fans would have been boycotting too, due to Gillett and Hicks. Yet, we're still 3 places above the self-proclaimed 'biggest club in the world'.

had to check who you were referring to there and when I did an 'oh for f*** sake!' left my mouth! I like your cynicism :)

Yep. Either that, or we just switch squad numbers around twice a season.

Glory hunters jumping the bandwagon when we appointed Roy must have had something to do with it.

you have a bad definition of 'glory'!

I think Torres will hurt in terms of revenue and dont think Suarez and Carroll will make up the difference but a more attacking style of play will bring more followers overseas and with it TV and merchandicsing revenue so it should even itself out.

But who gives a f***! its the performance on the pitch that counts, first place is the revenue league wins you what medal exactly? How many 'League Revenue Medals' have the mancs won and who cares*?

*in a financial sense - dont hear many songs about it
