floyd the barber Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 (edited) We go into this game with Rafas future on the line......now we all know(well we guess) the compensation package would be massive, but factor in the press and the way he will be hounded...plus the factor that our scumbag owners have previously looked into getting another manager and it could well be a reality.. I can see similarites between this and slur alex...the mancs were nearly out of the fa cup and mark robbins saved them and by all accounts.....slurs job.. this sunday could be massive if we win and a huge turning point... Aquillani is nearly ready to gotorres and gerrard might be fit...Aurellio isnt injured ...yetagger is back.....all center backs fit Crossing fingers, but we could be going into november with a fit squad. the way this season is going , i can easily see the mancs and chelsea losing a bunch of games.. this season is far from over.. For some reason, i just cannot see us losing sunday........we gotta believe, i also wouldnt be suprised to see Aquillani on the bench. We have to all get behind Rafa, the man is a legend...not just for the obvious.. but i friggin love the guy, so many great moments..the meditation / buddah stance against chelseathe rant at slur alexhis shankly-isms at press conferencesthe don like calm down gestures at fathead steve bruce the list goes on and on..and im sure there are plenty more.. mathewbet1 Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 So much riding on this game, loosing is not an option.
KD07 Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 havent we learned that 'turning points' do naught?we need to step up, yo.babel time.
David Hodgson Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 I'm 100% confident about this one. It will be the spring board for out title challenge.
AE Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 First goal is all.We get it, and if its early, I think we will batter them...If they get it then God help us....
Toni Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 It is a huge turning point! Huge boost with aqui almost ready, agger fit, carra back, captain marvellous and torres almost to 100%... All this should set us up for a long run in snatching 3 points... couple or one shrewd additions in jan... and we will be a happy bunch come mAY.
Flight Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 couple or one shrewd additions in jan... and we will be a happy bunch come mAY. Your post was going really well up to that point.
Toni Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Your post was going really well up to that point. squad is paper thin...let s hope we are still challenging until JAN, then owner or no owners we MUST dip in the market, loans, buys, barters, exchanges, frauds, blackmails, threats, anything that lands quality on anfield' s turf.
Mr. Biscan Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 It will only be a turning point if we win the league
psl Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 It will only be a turning point if we win the league How does that work?
muleskinner Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 It will only be a turning point if we win the league
Mr. Biscan Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 How does that work? If we go and lose to Fulham next, what does this victory mean? For now, we must enjoy the victory.
muleskinner Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 If we go and lose to Fulham next, what does this victory mean? For now, we must enjoy the victory. You're a bit gutted we won and won so well aren't you? What with Rafa picking the team and getting his tactics carried out so well.
psl Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 If we go and lose to Fulham next, what does this victory mean? For now, we must enjoy the victory. But you didn't say that its only a turning point if we win next week.
Chili Palmer Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 If we go and lose to Fulham next, what does this victory mean? five hours after beating Utd.
Mr. Biscan Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 But you didn't say that its only a turning point if we win next week. If we finish 4th is today a turning point?
Ripley Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 If we go and lose to Fulham next, what does this victory mean?Nobody knows. Rafa must speak out immediately.
Mr. Biscan Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 You're a bit gutted we won and won so well aren't you? What with Rafa picking the team and getting his tactics carried out so well. Devastated
Pam Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Hopefully it will give us some time for our key players to get fit. Maybe the baying dogs in the press will find someone else to pick on. Rafa is doing difficult job in impossible circumstances and does not deserve the disrespect he has been shown by the media and some of our own fans.We don't have enough top players but today everyone stepped up and did us proud. If we can get and keep gerrard and torres fit, get masherano's head back, our lesser recognised players keep their confidence and acquilani is half as good as rafa believes he is we have a chance of doing something this season! Is a lot of ifs but mostly tonite I am delighting in raga and the team sticking it to the @rseholes in the media.
Chili Palmer Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 If we finish 4th is today a turning point? nobody knows if today will be a turning point but I, and I'm sure many others, WANT to believe it is, I haven't even thought about negatives only five hours after the final whistle. Says alot about your mindset I'd say.
muleskinner Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Devastated Clearly. Looking for something to beat the manager with on what is one of the best days of any season.
psl Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 If we finish 4th is today a turning point? We don't need to win the title for today to have meant something. Just enjoy it. Just for one night before returning to your default position of miserable.
Mr. Biscan Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Clearly. Looking for something to beat the manager with on what is one of the best days of any season. Spot on mate, I'm devastated, and pissed off that the fat Spanish Waiter managed to earn us a win. Anyway, contrary to popular belief I've been delighted since the final whistle and enjoying it. Hopefully it can be a turning point, but it HAS to be a turning point. For me, this result would mean nothing unless we go onto achieve. But seriously though, I'm gutted. I'll be watching the highlights tonight with sorrow and anger.
